Smart features are a bonus. They include mapping technology that remembers your home's layout, avoiding furniture and rugs and getting into those nipples underneath furniture that larger robots struggle with.
iRobot Roomba j7+
The iRobot Roomba J7+, an upgrade to the previous model from the company, adds new technology that makes it more effective in preventing pet waste. It makes use of smart mapping to create maps of rooms and floors and works hard to stay clear of obstacles like furniture, charging cords and shoes. It can also identify dirt and prioritize cleaning areas that are heavily soiled. This is a major improvement over earlier models that often ignore dirty spots or only clean them for a brief period of time.
The robot vacuum cleaner reviews vacuum comes with a new self-emptying base station, which can collect dust into its own 2.4L dirt disposal bag. iRobot's claims this can hold up to 60 days worth of debris and means you only have to empty and change the bag every three months. In our tests in our lab, the iRobot Roomba J7+ was capable of cleaning hardwood and area rug surfaces without any problems in the foyer, kitchen and the family room. It listened to our instructions and did its jobs quietly, registering just 64 decibels when it was in operation. It took it 90 minutes to clean a single room and the battery had to be recharged afterward for a total of an hour and 58 minute. You can also expand your iRobot ecosystem by using the Combo J7, which lets you to pair it with the iRobot mop m6 to have one mop while the other moves around the room.
Dyson 360 Viz Nav
The Dyson 360 Viz Nav robot vacuums that mop vacuum cleaner is the best choice for anyone living in a multi-floored house. The model can create maps for different floors and save them into the app. It's then easy to switch between spaces without having to repeat the setup process. In our tests, we observed that the Dyson 360 Vis Nav could reach up to baseboards as well as edges, and could navigate through furniture with tight corners. The suction of the robot is strong and it can pick up every hair strand, dust particle, and dried-out piece of Playdoh we threw its way. The vacuum removed the bin quickly and easily and cut down the time spent cleaning robot mop and vacuum by half.
The Dyson 360 Viz Nav did not perform as well as other robots we evaluated in our obstacle avoidance tests. It had a tough time with a drying rack that it kept trying to scoot under, eventually getting stuck and disrupting the cleaning cycle. It also had difficulty navigating some furniture pieces that are taller, like the coffee table or a chair. The Dyson 360 Vis Nav is also not able to climb stairs, which will be a problem for a lot of people living in multi-story homes.

Roborock robot vacuum cleaners offer high-end cleaning features that are above the others. Dual mops are included that spin and lift stains when pressing down. They also lift automatically when vacuuming carpets, stopping streaks of dirt from forming and re-clogging vacuums with dirt. They have a suction of up to 5,500 Pa, which is superior in the removal of dirt and dust. Additionally they also have an intelligent water flow control to ensure the correct amount of moisture for each flooring type.
One of the most impressive aspects about Roborock is its capability to map out your complete home's layout with laser technology. The LiDAR system on the Roborock robot rotates continuously emitting laser beams, and measuring the time it takes them to bounce back off nearby objects. The data is then used to build a real-time map of your home's layout that allows it to navigate with a high degree of accuracy and avoid obstacles.
Based on the model you choose, you can customize the map to include furniture placements, no-go zones and room-specific cleansing. You can also choose a cleaning schedule for vacuum only, mop alone, or vacuum+mop. You can schedule regular cleanings using an app-based cleaning system that allows you to set it and forget it.
Roborock has a wide range of options, from the budget-friendly S6MaxV to the most expensive S7 MaxV Ultra. All models feature advanced mapping capabilities, a long battery life, and a huge capacity dustbin. The docking station comes with a variety of functions, such as charging and refilling the hot water tank. Lastly, they are covered by a two-year guarantee in the UK.
Beko RCV 5
The Beko RCV 5 is a relative newcomer to the robotic vacuum and mopping market and is already making waves with its sleek design and decent price. The Beko RCV 5 comes with a few tricks on its sleeve to make it stand out from its competitors, such as object recognition and self-emptying functionality. It's easy to set up and use using an application that lets you customize many settings.
The navigation system in this model makes use of a combination of sensors and mapping technology to navigate your home and does an excellent job of getting around obstacles. You can also alter the cleaning path using the app, making it simple to clean certain areas more often than others. The app can be difficult at first however once you get hang of it, you'll be able to plan your cleaning schedule and control the power of your robot with ease.
Despite its impressive array of features however, the RCV 5 is not without its flaws. It uses a small water tank, which can only hold 240 ml at any given time. Although this is sufficient to perform an ordinary wipe clean, it's not ideal for removing the most stubborn stains. In addition the wiping plate itself is quite basic and doesn't include the ability to rotate or vibrate.
The battery life of an RCV 5 at this price is not the length one would expect. In actual fact the RCV 5 only lasts for about a third of a cleaning cycle before needing to recharge. This isn't a dealbreaker but it's something to keep in mind when you are looking for a new robot vacuum cleaner.
Karcher RCV 5
The German manufacturer Karcher is best known for its pressure washers. However, it has entered the robot vacuum market with a model that vacuums and mops. The RCV 5 offers an impressive variety of features, including great obstacle detection (with dual lasers) and mapping that can be monitored in real time through the smart app.
It also detects carpeted surfaces and activates mopping mode that is wet. It also has a spot cleaning function that intensely cleans a small area of about 3 feet. It can also be programmed to repeat every week. The RCV 5 is a decent suction power of 2,500 pascals and has a great sweeping ability for both hard and soft flooring. It can also get into tight nooks and under furniture that often halt bigger robot cleaners.
Karcher Home Robots is an application that runs on smartphones, and, like other robots of today it can be used to begin cleaning processes and make maps of your home. It's also possible to set up virtual walls and zones within which the RCV 5 isn't able to drive, as well as a host of other options for controlling.
The RCV 5 has a downside in that its dust bin is only a litre and it will need to be emptied regularly. This is unlike other models that have integrated disposal technology in their docking station. It's also heavier than many of its competitors which makes it less mobile, and thus requiring more space in the charging station. The RCV 5 was rated highly by the testers for its ease of use and app control. It was a great performer in our tests, however some testers struggled to get its voice technology to work properly.
