The iRobot Roomba j7+ robot is a combination of vacuum and mop, and comes with a self-emptying, washable dock. It has excellent mapping capabilities but struggled to identify objects in our tests.
Its navigation system quickly maps homes and provides easy-to-use features such as no-go zones. And its powerful suction keeps hardwood floors sparkling and low-pile carpets looking fresh.
Shark IQ
Shark IQ offers advanced smart features that aren't expensive. Its powerful motor, specially designed brushes and sensors that are adaptive optimize suction and cleaning settings to achieve the best results. It also has an intuitive interface and usually comes with voice control options. The initial setup is fast and easy, while the mobile app lets you track each clean cycle and customize your cleaning schedule.
During our tests in our tests, the Shark IQ performed well on all surfaces and effectively cleaned pet hair. However, it had trouble with carpets that had high and low piles. It also had difficulty navigating certain areas, moving in an zig-zag pattern before adhering to the walls of the room. The navigation system could be better, but the IQ robot did a fantastic job of picking up debris. It was also much better than the ION robotic vacuum.
The IQ is compatible with the Shark mopping system. This makes it less necessary to replace bags. It's also quicker to charge and has an improved set of automation features than the Roomba j7+ from iRobot.
