Path of Exile Item Upgrading
In Path of Exile, item upgrading is among the best ways to improve your equipment without relying on massive drops or trade. This article will teach you how to upgrade your items efficiently.
Upgrades to equipment provide a bonus on the item's stats. The bonus increases with upgrade component level and rarity.
Components
Upgrade components can make your armour and weapons better. They can be found through destroying enemies, buying them from karma vendors, or finding them in items-spheres. You can also salvage them from equipment containing the components, or by utilizing high-tier salvage kits such as Black Lion Salvage Kit and Ascended Salvage Tool. Unlike most other items upgrade components, upgrade components aren't destroyed when removed from an item.
The main function of upgrade components is to enable an item to be upgraded however, they also serve other functions. They can be stacked to increase the quality of an item that can be upgraded or they can be used to boost the amount of experience gained from upgrading an existing weapon or piece of equipment. They can also be forged to give additional bonuses. For example, a designed glyph will increase the chance of upgrading its target, while a boost upgrade will boost the defense or attack quality of a weapon or armor.
By selecting an upgrade template from the GUI will let you bind it to an item. This will show the upgrade components that the item can be updated. You can also use the workbench for selecting an upgrade template. In either case, the item will be upgraded after enough upgrade components have been collected.
Each component has a unique experience multiplier. This determines the amount of experience an item gains when upgraded with that component. For instance, organic components have a a higher experience multiplier than mechanical ones. It is therefore Best item upgrader to upgrade using organic components until you reach the experience multiplier of the next rank of the equipment or weapon, and then switch to mechanical upgrades.
In addition to the experience multiplier every item also has the maximum number of upgrades it can receive. The number of upgrades available is determined by its upgradeable rank and the type of upgrade available to the upgradeable item. For instance, the most expensive possible weapon upgrade is a tier 10 weapon. However, the most popular upgrade for weapons is the tier 6 weapon and an armor upgrade of tier 5.
Sets
A set is a group of items that share the benefit of. Each item can be upgraded at the minimum once. The upgrade items increases the amount of bonuses you can expect to receive. When you first upgrade an item or set piece will give it a +1 increase to its primary stat. Following upgrades, primary stats are increased even more (for instance, +1 for 12+/13+/14+) and every time an item is upgraded one of its additional stats increases randomly.
Upgrades to a weapon may increase the damage base, which may be necessary for certain builds. However, weapons are not upgraded to have a greater defense level than their base. It is possible to increase value of specific sets and unique items by upgrading them, but they might not always be superior to a high-level Runeword.
If an item you're upgrading has a guaranteed bonus it is able to be rerolled once and the guarantee will reset to 0. Rerolling costs the same amount of power dice as bringing an item, however the new item upgrades will offer various bonuses. Upgrading can be done by visiting the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you'll need a power die of each type (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; dice 7 drops from bosses) and the right amount of Minerals and Erons. These can be purchased with Gold at the crafting table, or in the Ultra Collection. NPCs will also provide special rewards for each level of the upgrade process. This reward can be rerolled once and the reroll will use the same materials as the first item.
Rerolling
A player can reroll any item acquired in the game if they have enough tokens. If an item is rerolled, it will be replaced with the same level in another set. Reroll tokens are available at the store for a small amount of in-game currency. They are not refundable. The new item upgraded will still come with the extra bonuses of the original one however, its stats will be different too.
Players can change the identification of their equipment, in addition to changing it's roll by interfacing with an NPC upgrader. This will change the identification from a weapons to armor or reverse it. The base stats and requirements remain the same. The change is permanent and will affect all characters that own the gear in question.
The player can also upgrade their level of the item for any equipment equipped. This can be done by talking to an upgrader NPC, and then obtaining upgrade components. The cost will vary depending on the upgrade track, item type and the number of crests. Each step will add 5percent more damage to weapons.
The upgrade of an item will make it more powerful however, it can reduce its effectiveness. It is therefore important to keep both in check. Certain items might not be worth upgrading at all however, others will need to be upgraded in order to maximize their potential. One player may wish to upgrade the breakpoint armor by adding an interesting modifier ( percent block chance, or FHR) in order to discover what it could be.
Rerolling is a popular practice in Genshin Impact and other gacha-based games. People do it to gain access to an item or character they would not otherwise be able to acquire. The process of obtaining these items can be expensive and time-consuming, and the RNG gods aren't always willing to cooperate. The only other options are to invest money or grind a lot. This is why rerolling is a very popular choice in Genshin Impact.
Leveling
When upgrading an item, you can pick to upgrade the weapon or armor. This feature isn't available in the current version of the game. I believe it was intended to to add value to rare items, but because gear in general drops fairly quickly and is only upgraded after a certain amount of levels it is likely that you will replace the item before it gets old enough. It is also not worth upgrading items using gem sockets because the power of the gemstone will outweigh any increase in the ilvl.
If you click on the upgrade option on an item, you will be presented with a small window displaying the upgrade template for the item and the cost of crest and Valorstone to boost the level of the item. Weapons and armor will have different costs, with the former generally being more expensive. The upgrade template lists the stats that will be added to the upgraded item and will also list its current ilvl.
The crest and Valorstone costs are calculated based on the item's current ilvl and the upgrade template. The ilvl is also reduced by the upgrade template's lvl reduction percentage. For example the weapon that has an upgrade decrease of 8% will decrease its value by 8-8 percent.
In addition to the base ilvl increase it will also receive upgrades in other stats like critical strike damage, PvE damage, dodge, block, and parry rating. Those increases are also dependent on the upgrade template.
The amount of defense and damage the item is able to receive as it gets leveled up can be seen below the cost and upgrade decrease percentages in the upgrade template window. All weapons and armor that are not practice equipment gain these stats upon leveling up. The value of these stats will be determined by the market, with a perfectly rolled perfect version of a weapon or piece of armor can command significantly higher trade values than non-upp'd versions. The same applies to other armor pieces such as circlets or Tiaras.
