1. Smeg BCC02

This sleek, compact, and striking machine, created by the Milan-based firm Deep Design combines the brand's retro aesthetic with cutting-edge technology. It is able to handle every step of the coffee-making process - from grinding beans and tamping them into a puck to texturing milk and dispensing the correct volume - so you can create barista-quality hot drinks at the touch of the button.

The machine is also available in red, black, or taupe. It can easily fit into any kitchen design. The machine does not come free of flaws, however. Many reviewers felt that it was quite expensive for a cup-to- bean maker (and isn't equipped with an ice cube).

There were also many glowing reviews of the quality of the coffee as well as the ease of using this machine. The digital display is intuitive and provides an easy-to-follow guideline and feedback throughout the coffee making process, helping you make your drink perfect each time. The machine will even tell you to adjust the size of the grind, if that's not what you want. It's like having a personal barista at home (minus Elon Musk's rocket building abilities and Harry Potter's invisible cape).

This model is ideal for those who like milky drinks. The steam wand is adjustable up and down so that it fits most drinking vessels, except Viking drinking horns. We were also amazed by the speed and efficiency in which the frothing was done. It also makes an amazing espresso with a great crema and full-bodied flavor despite its small size.

The BCC02 is a great all-rounder. It's quiet and efficient, and offers great value for money at a price that is currently PS499. Its only real drawback is that it doesn't offer the same level of customisation like some of the other bean to cups we've tested. Its pump is 15 bars instead of the standard 19 bars. This is not as effective for making high-quality espressos. Other than that it's a fantastic bean-to-cup machine for those who prefer their coffee strong and dark. 2. Melitta Barista TS Smart

The Barista TS Smart is a top bean-to-cup machine with many features that help it stand out from the competition. Its most unique feature is probably the fact that it is controlled from your smartphone using the Melitta Connect app. This allows you to change settings and dispensing different coffee recipes that are stored in the machine itself.

This makes the machine very flexible and adaptable to suit your preferences. There are a variety of ways to alter the strength of your beverage, cup sizes and even whether you want milk included. The machine comes with two airtight containers of beans to cup that are automatically selected to suit different specialities. It will default to standard espresso beans in one, and cafe crem (a German variation of long black or flat white) in the other however, you are able to select any beans you'd like. There's also a convenient chute for pre-ground fresh coffee machines in case you'd like to use your own (for example, if that pesky dinner guest brings their own).

Users have also been amazed by the speed of the machine. They have reported that it is able to produce their drinks far quicker than other machines they have used. Another bonus is that it will warn you when one of its hoppers is about to be empty, so that you do not get caught running out of your preferred drink.

The price could be a concern for some. This machine costs nearly PS999. But, it's cheaper than similar Jura machines that have the same number of features.

The Barista TS Smart is backed up by an extensive warranty that provides two years of coverage. This is more than the average one year warranty, which is a great indication of trust from the manufacturer. The machine includes a cleaning tablet, and descaler. This makes it easy to maintain the machine. This is a great machine for those seeking a high-end and flexible bean to cup machine that's priced at a reasonable price.
