The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst at Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He conducts tests and reviews of cleaning equipment. His focus is on mopping robots and vacuum combinations. Multitaskers are ideal for those looking to remove mopping from their list of things to do. They feature impressive mapping capabilities and obstacle avoidance, and some wash and refill their mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
If you're looking for a robot vacuum that can also mop, this is the model to look for. It's smaller than other models on this list making it easier to maneuver in tight corners and under furniture. It has a 220 degree Lidar that, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, gives it one of my top navigation and avoidance capabilities I've seen in the form of a robotic hoovers vacuum. It comes with a massive 4600mAh battery that can last for up to 170-minutes when mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it is able to run longer in turbo). It can even return to the dock to replenish its battery halfway through an efficient.
It's extremely quick and does a great job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms extremely quickly and hardwood floors in the hallways, and living room in one go. The suction motor's 8,000pa is quick at picking up dirt, droppings and pet hair. Carpet detection increases power automatically when it encounters rugs and the dual side brushes help draw out dirt from corners.
The mopping efficiency is less impressive, though not by much. The mop rotates quickly and makes use of 2.2lbs to scrub dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arm protrudes out a little more than other robots. This is useful when you're trying to get into tight corners or on baseboards. Those same front arms can be used to sweep larger objects, such as broken toys and fallen books.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've tested. It is quieter and doesn't create more noise when mopping or vacuuming. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it needs to utilize a specific mopping solution and is sold separately. It's simple to install and works well however it's something you'll have to be aware of when you purchase this vacuum solely for the purpose of mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums that mop in its class. It is equipped with a broad array of features that make it a great choice for homeowners who want a highly effective, versatile, and customizable cleaning machine.
The device is equipped with an impressive and powerful cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors with an RGB camera to map the home and locate furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean efficiently and methodically. This ensures a thorough and consistent clean and is also quick.
In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can be used to reach many different surfaces. This includes baseboards, corners and other hard to reach places. The side brush can be stretched out to reach the floor near to walls and other fixtures. Additionally the mop pads can be cleaned and dried to prevent build-up and reduce the smell.
App-based customization is yet another noteworthy feature. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the intensity of its suction and select between a back-andforth or more randomized pattern. You can also adjust the number of passes it must make, which will affect how fast the device will traverse your home. You can also choose to turn off the side brush to prevent damaging carpets and rugs.
This device has a fairly high price tag but comes with a large selection of innovative features. However, it's important to remember that it carries regular costs, such as mopping supplies and maintenance. For instance the brushroll needs to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to 12 months. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad should be replaced every one to three months.
This robot hoover and mop vacuum that mops is rated highly on Amazon and comes with a wide range of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also has an energy button that doubles as a 'Clean' button' as well as a 'Home button to send it back home after cleaning. It also has a multi-functional dock that automatically empty the trash bin and refills its water tank to mop and washes and dry its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
If you're a professional with a lot of work or just want a cleaner home without spending hours doing chores, the Shark Matrix Plus is a solid choice. It's a top-performing device, intelligent navigation, and a long battery life that makes it simple to keep your home clean with little effort.
The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a 2-in-1 vacuum and mop. It is capable of vacuuming as well as mopping. The robot is divided into two parts, a dry bin and water tank that can be snapped in and out and a mopping module which includes an elastomer pad. It's not the most modern thing to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping, but it does mean you don't have to fret about changing out disposable bags or refilling the tank of water.
Our test subjects found that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming as well as mopping. Its best robotic mop and vacuum feature was its accurate floorplan map, which it uses to draw an outline for cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate easily between rugs, furniture, and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' and virtual barriers to stop certain areas from being cleaned by mop.
We also found that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in removing hair of pets. It was able capture many of the hair shed by our cats, and even got into the corners and crevices of our stairs where other robots had struggled. Its noise levels were fairly low, and there were some pleasant jingles to inform you that it was beginning and working towards its goal.
The app was too simple and you had to alter the modules every time you switched between vacuuming and mops. The app is not able to store multiple maps. This can be a problem if your home has multiple floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a ideal choice for people who are looking for a smart device that can vacuum and mop.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops (from the Hubstack blog) in our test, but it has some distinctive features that make it worth considering. The X1 Omni is most well-known for its enormous dock that doubles as a charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two water tanks of 4 liters. It also houses a 2.5-liter dustbin and the 2.5 milliliter dust bin.
The base comes with several control buttons that let you manually begin a cleaning task and then recall the robot or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to turn off the child lock. This is a great feature for parents worried about their kids messing around with the vacuum.
The X1 Omni, like other robotic vacuums, utilizes its camera to spot furniture and obstacles in its path. It will stay clear of them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
The X1 can be prone to become stuck if it is entangled in a blockage, such as the power cable that is draped over a rug. It won't work until you manually untangle it. This was a rare incident however it was frustrating since the X1 does not have a "stuck status" alert on its application.
Another possible issue is another issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming modes during a cleaning session. You'll need to manually swap between the two modes, which isn't an issue except for the fact that the mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between use, which can lead to mildew or mold.
On the positive side the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad. It's a significant contrast to the basic black bases of rivals like Roborock or iRobot. And it's an impressive sight in an industry dominated by boxy models.
