1. Roomba Q5 Pro
The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've examined. They are equipped with motors that are top-of-the line and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. And, like other top iRobot models (including the top-rated model) they employ smart mapping technology to design precise floor plans and eliminate common obstacles like cords and furniture legs. They also feature carpet boost which boosts the robot vacuum cleaners uk's power when it spots an abundance of dirt on the carpet to get it clean quickly.
Both the Q5 as well as the Q7 Max Series get very excellent scores in our floor tests that test for bare floors and are particularly effective in cleaning pet hair. There are some issues however, which hinder them from being our first option. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is that its navigation system does not have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's also prone to get stuck on socks and shoes and could not navigate through rooms with a lot of people well during our tests. Also, it doesn't have an image sensor that lets it see the corners of a room.
It's still a great deal for those whose office or home has lots of unfinished floors and you want to save money. It's also quiet and operates while you're at work or in school. The only thing it's missing that you don't get in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective at mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. If you need to mop, the mopping pad can be changed for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of minutes.
2. IRobot Roomba
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact elegant vacuum cleaner that can also mop floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps as well as nimble navigation make it easy to clean and effective in dealing with larger particles, like pet hair. It is possible to instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and extend them when in a carpeted area which prevents cross-contamination. The flex arm is ideal for getting under furniture that is low and along baseboards. It's not as effective on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.
During tests, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop that could complete the entire house with the battery at 66 percent left. It also did a good job cleaning a variety of floors and rooms with mixed flooring types, including some area rugs. Its obstacle detection was superb, and it avoided fake dog turds, socks, shoes and bundles cables.
It's more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, but it has superior suction, a built-in dust bin that automatically emptys into its base, and it supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It is able to clean floors even after it has vacuumed. This is something we haven't seen in other robotic vacuum/mop combos.

With a sleek circular design that appears more like a regular Roomba than the competitors' compact models this robot vacuum and mop combo is one of the most attractive looking models in our evaluations. The latest model from iRobot is also its smartest. It has advanced features like enhanced dirt detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads on its own).
It's the only robotic mop or vacuum that scored 100% in our evaluations, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors that include cameras, a structured lighting system, and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot vacuum cleaners best we tested that could refill and empty its basestation autonomously. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop mops.
As with other iRobot models like the X40 is user-friendly, with a simple mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit and Google Assistant. The only drawback is that the X40 is still a noisy unit. This could be a problem in mornings prior to work or during the night when you're trying to fall asleep.
It's also a bit expensive, but not as expensive as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally powerful and more attractive. It's a dual-purpose vacuum that's extremely powerful however it's going to cost you more and produce more noise.

It also comes with "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vacuum works and also adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home according to the amount of dirt they tend to be.

For busy families, a recharge function and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to pick up where it left off could be very useful.
