They pass our tests on cleaning and can handle different flooring. Find models that allow you to choose from multiple modes, use their charging dock to self-empty, and clean up stairs.

A lot of the top models are compatible with your smartphone. Look for an app that allows you to save maps, schedules and select cleaning options.

1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro

The black and gloss gunmetal Omni S1 Pro from Eufy is one of most impressive mop and robot vacuum combos available. It makes use of lidar to navigate making maps of floors and rooms.

When I tested the S1 It was quick to identify our downstairs, which is home to Linoleum flooring in the kitchen/dining room and bathrooms, plus carpeting of medium-pile as well as a large area rug. It was able to drive close to walls without crashing into them, and was able to traverse thresholds for rooms that are raised without issue, though it occasionally was unable to navigate down the stairs in one step. The S1 also did a great job of cleaning hard floors by dragging its mop effortlessly on its flat side against the floor, and then lifting itself when it reached carpet or rug.

The docking station of the S1 automatically emptys its trash bin and fills its water tank on board with clean, ozonated water prior to each mopping session. The dock provides a deep-cleaning solution to the water. The S1 water tank can hold enough for 12 cleaning sessions, but it will differ based on how often you use the mop.

Like all 2-in-1 robots, the S1 requires regular maintenance to ensure that it's operating well. You'll need to periodically rinse out the tank that has been contaminated to avoid it becoming blocked. It is also necessary to clean the swivel wheel and sensors regularly to prevent them from getting blocked by dirt or dust. Overall the S1 requires less maintenance than other combos.

2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete

Ecovacs All-in-one robot vacuum cleaners reviews vacuum and mop is a powerful solution for your cleaning requirements. Its robot vacuum boasts 8,700Pa of suction, and comes with many innovative features, including full home mapping, voice control, and smart path-planning to avoid obstructions and cleans furniture. The mopping feature is impressive, with mops that rotate that actually lift and scrub the floor instead of simply drag the pad across it. The mops are cleaned and dried in the base station as needed.

The robot is simple to set up and use, with a simple interface that walks you through the process. It comes with a rechargeable hand vacuum to reach those areas the robot isn't able to reach, as well as two water tanks that are automatically emptied and replenished as needed. It also has a number of useful settings to fine-tune your cleaning preferences.

The Deebot X2 Combo Complete does excellent job of vacuuming, with strong suction that easily removes most of the debris, and even smaller pieces of dust that other robots struggle with. Its navigation capabilities are pretty good, too, even though it does sometimes get hung up on the small area mats or rugs that I have in my house (which is something you can mitigate by creating a virtual border within the app). Mopping capabilities are quite good robot vacuum and include a pair of mops which are able to lift and scrub floors instead of simply drag the pad across it. The mops can be cleaned with heated water, and dried in the basestation as required. Mops are also refilled from the top of the base station as needed.

3. Dreame X40 ultra

Dreame's X30 Ultra robot vacuum that vacuums and mops vacuum and mop was launched earlier this year. However, their latest flagship model is packed with impressive features. It has fantastic cleaning results, and it is easy to maintain. This makes it a worthy contender for our list of the top robot vacuums and mop. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart recognition and a long side brush guarantee a thorough, customised clean.

The X40 Ultra does an excellent job of vacuuming, picking up large and small particles from both hard floors and carpets. It cleaned the dirtiest places of our tests with ease, avoiding pet hairs and other messes. The sweeping capability of the machine is boosted by a sidebrush that automatically extends to reach areas that are difficult to reach, and mop pads that extend across baseboards.

Its navigation is smart, navigating tight spaces and climbing the stairs without a hitch. It can go from one room to the next without having to change direction. This is useful for homes that have multiple rooms. Its obstacle avoidance system is less advanced than that of some competitors and leaves a wide margin around obstacles. This can lead to missed spots.

Its app has a streamlined user interface that is designed to be user-friendly for both new and experienced users. The app lets you schedule and manage cleanings. You can also alter the suction power, mop settings as well as view 2D and 3-D maps. It is accessible through the app, Alexa, Google Assistant or Siri, allowing you to keep an eye on its progress from any location. You can also use the X40 Ultra's camera remotely, for real-time video monitoring. You'll need a stable internet connection to access the app and external controls.

4. Roomba Q5 pro

A robot vacuum does an excellent job of picking up debris and dirt but it's not always able to get every last bit of dust. This is why it's crucial to use your regular vacuum at least once every week, and especially to pick up dust in corners, on shelves, and in the corners of your couch. Roborock's Q5 Pro is a 2-in-1 vacuum and mop robot designed to do exactly that. It is easy to connect it to your home Wi-Fi network and works with Alexa or Apple Siri.

The Q5 is an unadorned version of the company's more pricier S-series models, including the top-of-the-line Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra. It has a similar LIDAR mapping sensor, but saves on price by eliminating mopping functions and using a less expensive plastic body.

Despite losing the ability to wipe your floors, the Q5 has some of the best vacuum and mopping performance we've seen from a robotic at this price. It has powerful 5500Pa suction and an automatic vacuum cleaner emptying system, which means you don't need to manually empty the bin every time. It also comes with a smart app that lets you select your floor's type and schedule cleanings. It also has an automatic refill of the water tank and wash system for hands-free operation.

Its mops are also impressive with 2700Pa of power to take on dust, dirt and pet hair on hard floors and carpets. The Q5 is one of the few robots we test that didn't have trouble with high-pile carpets and area carpets, but it didn't clean up cat litter or cable tangles, which is no surprise since it does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance.

5. K10 Plus

K10 Plus is the quietest robot vacuum we've ever tested. It also features a unique mapping system that lets it reach tight spaces and corners that other vacuums are unable to. It also is able to collect more dust in the bin, which means you don't need to empty it as often. It also has washable filters, which can further cut costs. This robot can also detect carpets and boost the suction when needed. The app allows you to mark off areas that you want it to avoid, which is a nice feature.
