The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst for Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He evaluates and tests cleaning appliances. His focus is on robot vacuums, and mopping combinations. Multitaskers are a great choice for those who want to take mopping off their to-do list. They are equipped with impressive mapping capabilities and obstacle avoidance capabilities, and some wash and refill their own mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
If you're looking to buy a robot vacuum that also mops then this is the model you should go for. It's smaller than other options on this list which makes it easier to maneuver into tight corners and underneath furniture. It has a 220-degree lidar that combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the most effective navigation and object avoidance I've ever seen in a robotic vacuum. It has a 4600mAh battery which can last up to 170 minutes if cleaning and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can run longer on turbo). It can even return to its dock to replenish its battery in mid-clean.
It's fast and does an excellent job cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It cleans the carpeted areas extremely quickly, and hardwood floors in the kitchen, hallways, and living room in a single sweep. The motor's 8,000pa power allows it to remove dirt hair, pet hair, and poop easily. Carpet detection increases power automatically when it comes in contact with carpets and the dual side brushes help draw out debris from corners.
The mopping performance is a little less impressive, though not by much. The mop's rotating motor spins at a high speed and it pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly scraping away dirt and staining. I've also noticed that the front arms stick out slightly more than other robots, which is helpful to maneuver around tight corners and on baseboards. The same front arms can be used to clean larger pieces of debris, such as broken toys and fallen books.
Another great feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mops I've ever used. It doesn't produce the same amount of noise when mopping or vacuuming, and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only drawback is that the S1 Pro must use a specific cleaning solution to perform its mopping function and is sold separately from the vacuum. It is easy to set up, and it works well. However, if you are buying this robot automatic vacuum cleaner and mop for mopping it is important to be aware of this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums that mop in its class. It comes with a wide array of features that make it a great choice for homeowners looking to purchase a highly effective, versatile and ad-hoc cleaning machine.
The device is equipped with a powerful and impressive cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensors with an RGB camera to map the house and locate furniture and other obstacles. It then uses this information to clean methodically and effectively. This results in an efficient, consistent clean that's also fairly fast.
The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad is capable of reaching many surfaces. This includes baseboards, corners and other difficult to reach spots. They also have a stretchy side brush that can extend to the floor in close proximity to walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are also washable and can be dried to eliminate odors and stop buildup.
Another feature worth mentioning is the app-based customization options. The Q Revo allows you to alter the strength of suction and select between a back-andforth or more random pattern. You can also select the number of passes, which determines how fast it can move around your home. You can even choose to disable the side brush to prevent damaging carpets and rugs.
The device has a expensive price tag, but it has a variety of advanced features. It's crucial to remember that it carries regular costs, such as mopping supplies and maintenance. For example the brushroll needs to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to 12 months. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad needs to be replaced every one to three months.
This robot vacuum that mops has a high rating on Amazon and offers a wide range of physical automation features. The best robot vacuum cleaner and mop vacuum also comes with a power button which doubles as a 'Clean button' and a 'Home button that allows it to go home after cleaning. It also comes with a multifunctional dock which automatically empty the dustbin, refills its water tank, and cleans and drys its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
If you're a busy professional or someone who just wants an organized home that doesn't require much time doing chores then the Shark Matrix Plus is a good option. Its powerful performance, smart navigation and long battery life make it easy to maintain a clean home with little effort.
The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a 2-in-1 mop and vacuum. It can do both mopping and vacuuming. The robot is divided into two components which include a dry bin and water tank that can be easily snapped in and out and a mopping module which includes an elastomer pad. Separate modules for vacuuming and mopping may seem a bit old-fashioned however, they mean you don't have to worry about changing disposable bags or refilling the tank with water.
The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming as well as mopping. Its most impressive feature is its accurate floorplan map, which it employs when cleaning. It was easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture carpets, rugs and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' or virtual barriers to prevent certain areas from being cleaned by mop.
The Matrix Plus also did a surprising job of collecting hair from pets. It was able capture the majority of hair shed by our cats and even found its way into the nooks and crevices of our stairs which other robots struggled. It was fairly silent and also had a few nice jingles that let you know when it was about to start or finishing its work.
Its main drawbacks were its lack of sophistication and the need to change between the modules to switch between vacuuming and mopping. The app doesn't have the capacity to contain multiple maps, which can be a problem for homes with a mix of floors. The Matrix Plus best robot vacuum is a ideal choice for people who are looking for a smart device that can mop and vacuum.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. However, it does have distinct features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni's main draw is its enormous dock that doubles as the robot's charging base and housing for two water tanks, a sink for cleaning and the 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically emptys.
The base also has a variety of control buttons that let you manually start a cleaning task, recall the robot, or use the dock's best automatic vacuum cleaner emptying process. Press two buttons to switch off the child lock. This is a wonderful feature for parents worried about their children playing with the vacuum.
The X1 Omni, like other robotic vacuums uses its camera to detect obstacles and furniture in its path. It will steer clear of them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system can map your home 10 times faster than conventional laser detection systems and is four times more precise at recognising objects.
Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni can occasionally become so entangled with obstacles, like a power cord draped across a rug that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you manually free it. Although this is not a common occurrence but it was a very frustrating experience when it did happen, especially since the X1 Omni doesn't have an "stuck" status alert in its app.
Another issue that could be a problem is another issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming modes during the cleaning process. You will need to manually switch between the two, which isn't a big deal except for the fact that mopping pads aren't cleaned and dried between uses, which can lead to mildew or mold.
The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame), who created its sleek modern, contemporary base and mopping pad. It's a big contrast to the basic black bases of competitors like Roborock or iRobot. It's also an excellent choice for an industry dominated by boxes.
