robot-vacuum-mops-logo-text-black-png-original.jpgRobots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that clean and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning both dry debris and wet mess in one go, without having to switch between devices. They also can save space when compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living areas.

Look for models that have docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, refill their water tanks and wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's among the easiest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and the quick-start guide will get you up and running with a clean, full dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in a matter of minutes.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops are spun at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly get rid of pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a range of brushes and attachments and a user-friendly app that lets you choose the exact kind of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.

For instance, you can request the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly, but leave the spare bedroom alone. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors and smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models are unable to. Its only issue is that it tends to crash into walls and objects at full speed. However an inspection of the history of cleaning in the app will reveal exactly what the robot completed, where it's moving, and what obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.

A large LCD screen on the docking station shows you when maintenance jobs must be completed including emptying the debris tray and washing the water tank that is dirty. It can also mix detergent into the tank automatically by using a 600ml eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro autonomous vacuum and mop are able to run for a long time and the mop is capable of running for an 184-minute runtime in Quiet mode, and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in standard mode before having to recharge or return to the base to replenish. You can also view the full cleaning details in the app, which is well laid out and is easy to comprehend however we would have liked to be able to distinguish between a automatic vacuum cleaner and mop and mop clean, when examining a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's most popular robot vacuum and mop. Unlike last year's model this one has two agitators in its mopping pad, which significantly improves its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction capacity that allows it to pull up smaller hairs and other particles other robotic hoovers cleaners could miss.

Like the other two Roborock models I've tested the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that helps it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by adding a dual camera which can detect objects and determine whether they are an object that is a wall or a different surface. It then can automatically alter its path and clean them without missing a beat.

It's the most expensive model I've tested, but it also has the most features. Its sleek, angular design is attractive and it only has three physical buttons: the power button, which can also restart cleaning; a mop-only switch that doubles as a child lock; and a home button that can send the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid can be opened to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank self-empties and the bin auto-filling.

The only downside I found with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if needed) but it's a challenge to remove the mount to wash it manually. I've observed that any soft carpet that the robot vacuums with mop passes will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and could cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart features that include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can set up and manage these via the Roborock app that is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app lets you schedule cleanings and track the battery's lifespan. However, you'll need to jump through a few hurdles to enable voice control on this model which is a pity considering the quality of its performance.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop that has incredible suction power, sophisticated mowing capabilities, and a variety of innovative features. Its clever design permits customised and efficient cleaning while also saving time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first one to provide 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful options available. This powerful vacuum can clean up dry mess, including pet hair and dust. It also comes with a top-quality mop that leaves floors sparkling clean, even with a wet pad. The X40 is also very quiet in operation and only occasionally bursting during mode changes or self-maintenance.

Another notable characteristic is the X40's extendable and liftable side brushes, which lets it get into difficult-to-access corners and clean furniture, such as tables and chair legs. It also allows the robot to access furniture with a low profile, making it a great option for apartments or condominiums with small spaces. The side brush automatically lowers itself when it spots wet spots. This is a nice addition that helps the X40 avoid damaging floors with excessive back-and-forth movements.

In contrast to other robots that solely focus on one task, the X40 can perform both vacuuming and mopping at the same time or individually. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors and not skip carpeted areas, or reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is easy to use and understand and the X40 has many smart features that are simple to configure. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, see mapping and floor plans, and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy to clean and has numerous features that make it a great choice for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the trash bin into a 3.2 L bin, washes the mop pads, and refills them with clean water and cleaning solution. It can also detect when the mop pad is filled and notify you when it gets overflowing, reducing the requirement for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models on the market. However, it has a number of features that make it stand out. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. This uses two high-speed mops to clean floors more thoroughly than the standard method, and it has an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can remove pet hair and other small dirt particles - as well as picking up spills and wet spots.

The mops are cleaned and dried at the base station every time they are used. This is beneficial because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature that we haven't seen in other best rated robot vacuum vacuum and mop models. It could be a great method to keep your home cleaner longer.

There are a lot of options, including the ability to schedule cleanings and change preferences. The app allows you to set these preferences or you can utilize the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and provides a variety of options for customizing the cleaning routine, and there are a lot of features that other robots don't include, such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power whenever it detects dust particles, rather than using an individual setting.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most fashionable robots we've seen on market, sporting metallic and white colors that looks elegant and classy. It's heavier than the other two-in-one robots in this list - at 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy, and feels sturdy and well-built. Mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mop is great for hard floors and in corners. They can even reach down to 2mm of baseboards due to the MopExtend feature which is a nice feature.
