When I tested the S1, it was able to map our downstairs, which is home to laminate flooring in the kitchen, dining room and bathrooms, plus medium-pile carpeting and a large area rug. It was capable of driving up to walls and even across raised thresholds without issue. However it was a bit difficult getting down the stairs in one step. The S1 did a good job cleaning hard floors. Its mop moved smoothly on its flat side and raised itself when it was near carpets or rugs.

The S1's docking station automatically emptys its trash bin and fills its water tank on board with clean, ozonated water before every mopping session. The dock also adds a cleaning solution to the water to ensure deep cleaning. The S1's water tank can hold enough water for around 12 cleaning sessions before it has to be cleaned, although this will vary depending on how much you use the mop.

The S1 requires periodic maintenance, just like any other 2-in-1 robots. For this, you'll need to rinse out the water tank that is dirty regularly to keep it from becoming clogged. You will also need to clean your swivel wheel and sensors regularly to avoid them becoming clogged up with dust or dirt. Overall, the S1 requires less maintenance than other combos.

2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete

Ecovacs All-in-one robotic vacuum and mop is an effective solution for your cleaning requirements. The robot vacuum has 8700Pa suction power, and comes with a number innovative features including voice control and smart path planning that cleans furniture and avoids obstacles. Its mopping capability is impressive. Rotating mop pads actually lift floors and scrub it instead of just drag a pad across a surface. The mops can also be dried and cleaned at the base station when required.
