Changing the battery in your key fob is among the easiest fixes. The key fob is powered by a tiny coin-shaped 3V battery (CR2032 or CR2025) that is generally accessible in general stores and home improvement stores, as well as some auto parts stores. Be sure to use an original battery -- old batteries are often not good for anything and can cause damage to the circuit board.
Begin by opening the fob. It may be tight, but with the help of a flat screwdriver you will be able split the halves. Place the screwdriver through the seams on both sides of the fob, and lift the clips that secure it. These can be easily damaged so be cautious and work slowly.
After replacing the battery, reassemble the fob and check to see if everything is functioning exactly as it should. Interference
The key fob is powered by a tiny transmitter that transmits a short-range signal to a receiver inside your car. Its purpose is to allow your car to recognize the fob and unlock its doors when you approach it and to start when you push the ignition button within.
Interference can interfere with communication. If you charge your second-generation Apple Pencil while holding the fob (via iGeneration) it could stop you from unlocking your vehicle.
Other electronic devices operating on the same frequency can also interfere with the fob's signal. Garage door openers or tire-pressure monitoring devices could be affected. It's possible that an RF transmitter inside your home might be interfering with the fob's signal however, this is difficult to identify without an examination by a professional.
Your key fob could require reprogramming.
