The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst at Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He tests and evaluates cleaning equipment, with a focus on robot vacuums and mopping combos. These multitaskers can be an excellent choice for those looking to remove mopping from their to-do lists. They are equipped with impressive mapping capabilities and obstacles-avoiding capabilities, and they can even wash and refill their mopping pads to give themselves a hands-off clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
If you're looking for a robot vacuum that can also mop, this is the model to look for. It is smaller than other options which makes it easier to maneuver into tight spaces or under furniture. It features a 220 degree lidar, which when combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the most effective navigation and obstacle avoidance I've ever seen in a robot vacuum best vacuum. It comes with a massive 4600mAh battery which lasts up to 170-minutes, if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can run longer in turbo). It will even return to the dock to top up its battery part way through cleaning.
It's very fast and does a fantastic job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It can vacuum carpeted rooms fast, and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways with just one motion. Its motor of 8,000pa is able to pick up dirt as well as pet hair and droppings with ease. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects carpets, and the dual side brushes help to clean debris from corners.
The mopping efficiency, while still impressive, is not as good. The mop rotates at a high speed and it pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly scraping away dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arm extends out a little more than other robots. This is useful in narrow corners or on baseboards. The same front arms can be employed to clean up larger debris, like broken toys and books.
Another nice feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mops I've ever tried. It doesn't create the same volume of sound when mopping or vacuuming and is much quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only issue is that the S1 Pro must use a specific cleaning solution to perform its mopping function and is separate from the vacuum. It's easy to install and works well however, it's something you'll need to keep an eye on if you're buying this robot vacuum solely for the reason of mopping.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuums which mops in its class. It has a robust suite of features that make it a great option for homeowners looking for an extremely efficient, flexible and adaptable cleaning machine.
The device comes with an impressive and powerful cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera to map your home and detect furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean efficiently and effectively. This results in a thorough, consistent clean which is also relatively quick.
In terms of mopping, Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can be used to reach many different surface areas. This includes corners, baseboards and other difficult to reach spots. They also have a flexible side brush that extends to the floor in close proximity to walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are washable and can be dried to reduce odors and prevent buildup.
App-based customization is another notable feature. The Q Revo allows you to alter the strength of suction and choose between a back-andforth, or a more random pattern. You can also choose the number of passes, which will determine how quickly it can move around your home. You can also disable the side brush in order to avoid damaging carpets and rugs.
The device is costly, however it has many useful features. It is important to remember, however, that the device incurs regular expenses, such as mopping supplies and regular maintenance. For instance the brushroll has to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to twelve months. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad needs to be replaced every one to three months.
The robot vacuum mop is a top Amazon rating and comes with an array of physical automation features. It has an energy button that can also function as a general 'Clean' button and a 'Home button that will take it back to its base station after completing its cleaning task. It also comes with a multi-functional dock that automatically empty the dustbin, refills its water tank for mopping and washes and dries its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be a good option for busy professionals or anyone looking to keep their home neat without spending too much time doing chores. Its powerful performance, intelligent navigation, and long battery life make it easy to keep a clean home with minimal effort.
The Matrix Plus robot vacuum mop cleaner robot is an all-in-one vacuum and mop. It is capable of vacuuming as well as mopping. The robot is divided into two parts which include a dry bin and water tank that can be snapped in and out and a mopping unit that is equipped with a microfiber pad. It's a little old-fashioned to have separate modules for vacuuming and mopping however it does mean you don't have to worry about changing out disposable bags or refilling the tank of water.
The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming as well as mopping. Its greatest feature is its accurate floorplan map, which it utilizes when cleaning. This made it a breeze for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture rug, furniture, and other obstacles. The app lets you create 'No-Go Zones' as well as virtual barriers that prevent certain areas from being cleaned by a mop.
The Matrix Plus also did a surprising job of picking up hair from pets. It was able capture the majority of hair our cats shed and even got into the nooks and crannys of our stairs which other robots struggled. The noise levels of the robot were low, and there were some pleasant jingles to let you know that it was beginning and getting its work done.
The app was too basic and you had to switch the modules each time you changed between mops and vacuuming. The app can't contain multiple maps, which could be a problem if you have a home with a mix of floors. The Matrix Plus is a good choice for people who want an intelligent robot that is capable of mopping and vacuuming.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. However, it has distinct features that make it worth considering. The X1 Omni's biggest draw is its huge dock, which serves as the robot's charging base and the housing for two water tanks, a sink for cleaning and a 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically eliminates.
The base comes with a few control buttons, which allow you to manually start cleaning tasks or recall the robot, or run the dock's automatic vacuum cleaner emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to turn off the child lock which is a great option for parents concerned about children playing with the vacuum.
Like other robotic cleaner and mop vacuums, the Omni Omni utilizes its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni will sometimes get so entangled with an obstacle--such as the power cord that is draped across a rug--that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you remove it manually. While this was rare but it was a very frustrating experience when it happened, especially since the X1 Omni doesn't come with an "stuck" status alert in its app.
Another potential downside is another issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically change between vacuuming and mopping modes during a cleaning session. You'll need to manually switch between the two, which isn't an issue except for the fact that mopping pads aren't washed and dried between use which could lead to mildew or mold.
The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame), who created its sleek modern, contemporary base and mopping pad. It's a big difference from the utilitarian black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. And it's an impressive sight in an industry dominated by boxy models.
