The majority of robot vacuums that we tested are able to mop. The most efficient 2-in-1 models remove the need for post-mopping cleaning by automatically washing the mop pads within their docks. However, avoid using any cleaning solution other than the one recommended by the manufacturer. Doing so could damage the robot and invalidate its warranty.
Self-Emptying Bins
The majority of robot vacuum with mop vacuums with a mop will also come with self-emptying bins, which makes cleaning easier and hands-free. The amount of time you'll spend emptying the dustbin or base station will depend on how often and how filthy your house is, but these models do take a lot of the manual work out of the process and are perfect for busy households.
The top robot vacuums that have mopping capabilities have water tanks that contain both dirty and clean water. They also include a compartment where the floor-cleaning solution of the brand can be automatically mixed and then dispensed. When the cleaning is over the bin onboard is filled, and the debris and dirt are sent back to base station for sealing in a larger and more robust dust bag. Base stations can be used to refill or wash and dry the robot mops.
These "hands-free" robots, such as the S8 MaxV Ultra from Roborock are the latest category of robots that can do almost everything for you -- they vacuum mop cleaner robot, muck and clean and even refill their own water tanks, and wash and dry mop pads. They make use of mapping, obstacle avoidance and smart functions such as room-specific and digital stay-away scheduling to navigate around the house.
These new models are fantastic in cleaning floors with no dirt, however they aren't able to reach into tight spaces, such as between chair legs and under furniture. This is why we recommend several robot mops that are able to mop and vacuum, such as the Roborock S7 and S8 and the Samsung Powerbot VR90.
The eufy X10 Pro Omni has an onboard bin for dirt and debris that can be cleaned manually, but it also comes with an auto-emptying docking station capable of emptying the storage bag in two to three cleaning cycles. A robot vacuum with a self-emptying bin is a great choice for large households or families that tend to generate lots of dust and dirt. The models automatically place used pads into a trash drawer for disposal, which eliminates the need to manually empty the dustbin and reduces how often you'll have to do it. It's also nice to be able to connect your device to your smartphone via an app. This lets you organize cleaning schedules and alter settings even when you're away.
A good robot mop will have multiple modes to suit different types of floors, such as dry sweeping or deep mopping. It should also come with docks that can be recharged between cleanings. Make sure that the robot is compatible mop with a smart assistant, such as Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. Certain models include additional features, such as "dirt sense" that detects the amount of dirt that has been left on the pad and will prompt it to remop, and a system that adapts its pressure to the type of surface (more for tile, less for hardwood) to prevent scratching floors.
Certain robot mops are capable of saving a map of the area and returning to it later for another cleaning. Robot vacuums that mop are a cost-effective option to get the freshly mopped and waxed look without having to hire a professional. The majority of the models that can mop also can be used to vacuum and be able to work on hard floors and carpets. However they do have some limitations, particularly if you have heavily-soiled or very long carpets. They can also be less effective on certain floor surfaces, such as laminate and linoleum.
Many mop robots use reusable pads that are cleaned and re-used by the base. They can last for up to 50 minutes before they need to be recharged and replaced. The Noesis Florio, which uses disposable pads instead of rechargeable batteries, is an exception. However, it's an excellent choice because it can move effortlessly throughout the house. It can move between chairs and over thresholds and even can remember where the threshold is after having crossed it a few times which means it knows when to slow down.
The X1 Omni is another option for robot vacuums that can mop since it doesn't need an app to function. It works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant which means that you can operate it with voice commands. It's also a bit cheaper than some of the other robots that can vacuum and mop, but it's not equipped with more advanced features.
One of the greatest features that it does have is a self-emptying garbage bin, which drops the contents into a larger waste bin that needs to be cleaned every 30 days or so. It also automatically fills its water tank and discards the cleaning pads once they're dirty, making it extremely low maintenance.

Some even let you connect to a personal assistant like Alexa or Google Assistant, and some include voice activation.
Some robots, such as the sleek RoboVac L20 Ultra, discard their mopping pads with no effort and place them in an empty waste bin that is automatically emptied from a dock powered by batteries located at the base station. This is a hands-free way of operation, however it can leave your floors a bit less tidy than if they were cleaned and replaced manually. The soft RoboVac L20 Ultimate we tested included, for instance, its lidar mapping system as well as digital keep-out zones to efficiently navigate around couches, chairs, and other obstacles. In our tests, it also did an excellent job of collecting pet hair and other debris in hard-to-reach corners and on stairs.
