The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.
He conducts tests and reviews of cleaning equipment. His focus is on mopping robots and vacuum combinations. These multitaskers are an excellent option for those who wish to take mopping off their to-do list. They feature impressive mapping and obstacle avoidance capabilities, and some even wash and refill their mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model to pick if you are looking for an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than the other options on this list which makes it easier to maneuver into tight corners and underneath furniture. It uses a 220 degree lidar which, when paired with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the best navigation and obstacle avoidance I've ever seen in a robot vacuum. It has a hefty 4600mAh battery which lasts up to 170-minutes if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can last longer in turbo). It can even return to the dock to top up its battery midway through a clean.
It is very efficient and does an outstanding job cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms quickly, and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen and hallways in just one sweep. The motor's 8,000pa power allows it to remove dirt, pet hair, and droppings easily. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it comes in contact with carpets and the dual side brushes help pull out dirt from corners.
The mopping efficiency, while still impressive, is not as good. The mop's rotating motor spins at a high velocity and is pushed down with 2.2lbs of force, easily cleaning up dirt and staining. I've noticed that the front arm extends out a bit more than other robots. This is helpful when getting into narrow corners or on baseboards. Those same front arms can also be employed to clean up larger debris, like broken toys and books.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've tried. It doesn't create the same volume of sound when mopping or vacuuming and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it must use a proprietary mopping solution and is sold separately. It is simple to install and performs well. However, if you are buying this vacuum solely to mop, you will need to be aware of this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from the majority of robot vacuum cleaner vacuums that mop in its class. It has a robust suite of features that make it a great choice for homeowners who want an extremely efficient, flexible, and customizable cleaning machine.
The device comes with an impressive and powerful cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensors with an RGB camera to map the home and locate furniture and other obstacles. It can then use this information to clean effectively and efficiently. This will ensure a thorough and consistent clean and is also fast.
The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad can reach many surfaces. These include corners and baseboards as well as other hard-to-reach areas. The side brush can be stretched to reach the floor near to walls and other fixtures. Additionally the mop pads are able to be cleaned and dried to prevent the build-up of dust and reduce odors.
App-based customization is another notable feature. The Q Revo allows you to alter the strength of suction, and choose between a back-andforth or more randomized pattern. You can also select the number of passes which will determine how quickly it can move around your home. You can also choose to disable the side brush to prevent damaging rugs and carpets.
It's expensive, however it has many useful features. It's crucial to note that it incurs regular costs in the form of mopping supplies and maintenance. For instance the brushroll should be replaced every six to twelve months or after 300 hours. The filter is recommended to be cleaned after 150 hours, and mop pads must be replaced every one to three months.
This robot vacuum uk vacuum mop has a high Amazon rating and comes with an array of physical automation features. These include an energy button that serves as a general "Clean button, as well as a 'Home button that will take it back to its base station once it has completed its cleaning session. It also comes with a multifunctional dock that automatically emptys the trash bin, fills up its water tank, and wash and drys its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be a good option for busy professionals or anyone who wants to keep their home clean without spending too much time on chores. It's a top-performing device, smart navigation, and a long battery life that allows you to keep your home tidy with minimal effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop, which means it is able to handle both vacuuming and mopping. The robot has two modules: a dry bin and water reservoir, and a separate mopping module with a microfiber pad that snaps in and out of place. It's a little old-fashioned to have separate modules for mopping and vacuuming however it does mean that you don't have to worry about changing the bags for disposables or refilling the tank of water.
Our test subjects discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job at both vacuuming and mopping. Its greatest feature was its precise floorplan, which it uses to create a route when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate effortlessly through rugs, furniture and other obstacles. The app allows you to create 'No-Go Zones' and virtual barriers to stop certain areas from being cleaned by mop.
We also discovered that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in picking up hair of pets. It was able capture a large amount of hair shed by our cats and even was able to get into the nooks and crannys of our stairs which other robots struggled. It was relatively quiet and had some lovely jingles to let you know when it was about to start or finishing its work.
The app was too easy and you had to change the modules each time you switched between vacuuming and mops. The app cannot save multiple maps. This could be an issue if your house has several floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those looking for an intelligent robot that can perform both mopping and vacuuming.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. It does however, have some unique features which make it worth looking into. The X1 Omni is most well-known for its massive dock that serves as a charging base for the robot, a cleaning sink and two water tanks of 4 liters. It also houses a 2.5-liter dust bin and the 2.5 liter dust bin.
The base has several control buttons that allow you to manually start cleaning tasks or recall the robot, or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to turn off the child lock. This is a nice feature for parents who are worried about their kids messing around with the vacuum.
Similar to other robotic vacuums, the Omni Omni uses its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path and eliminate them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system maps your home 10 times faster than conventional laser detection systems and is four times more accurate at recognising objects.
Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni could occasionally become so entangled with an obstruction, such as the power cord that is draped across a rug that it becomes stuck and stops working until you manually free it. While it was not common however, it was a gruelling experience when it happened, especially since the X1 Omni does not come with a "stuck" status alert in its application.
Another issue that could be a problem is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between vacuuming and mopping modes during a cleaning session. You will have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad however, mopping pads don't get washed or dried between uses. This could lead to mildew and mold.
On the positive side, the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its modern and sleek base as well as mopping pad. It's a significant departure from the utilitarian, all-black bases used by competitors like Roborock and iRobot and is a refreshing appearance in a market that is dominated by clunky boxy models.
