Top Rated Robot Vacuums

A robot vacuum can keep your floors clean enough to decrease the frequency of manual hoovering. Choose one that has good navigation, can sweep corners and stairs, and has a large dust bin that requires emptying only periodically.

You can also find models that mop and charge on their own, a feature that may be essential for those who have pets or children. Many of the best performers in our tests have excellent obstacles to avoid.

1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The i3+ EVO and its sibling, the i3 EVO, are identical robots that differ only in that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. The i3+ is an excellent option for those who want an entirely automated, hands-free cleaning experience, but want to manually empty the dustbin of the robot once it gets full.

Both robots excel at picking up surface debris off hard floors and carpets, and they are very good at maneuvering around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates smart map of your home to aid the i3+ in its navigation and clean up efficiently. The i3+ doesn't feature obstacle avoidance features like the i7+ or any other top rated robot Vacuum-rated robots that we test. It could be stuck on power cords and socks and have difficulty navigating between surfaces, such as carpet and hardwood.

iRobot recommends clearing areas where the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, and include putting away any toys or clutter it may encounter. Also, keep the filters and dust bin clean to prevent them from getting blocked. If the i3+'s internal bin is empty or the battery is not fully charged, it returns to the docking station and takes the dirt out of the docking station's external dustbin. It then continues cleaning where it left off. Battery life is about an hour-and-a-half of continuous usage. It takes about three hours to fully charge.

2. Roomba by iRobot

It's self-charging and self-navigating. the most important feature of all -- it has an auto-emptying dustbin, which eliminates one of the main sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.

The Roomba I7+ can map rooms more efficiently with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also works with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning tasks and remote control vacuum cleaner your robot using voice or via the app.

The i7+ is faster and more maneuverable in our tests compared to the eufy RoboVac G30. It also cleaned large pet hair pieces from any surface, including carpeting. The main advantage it has over the Eufy is its self-emptying bin that eliminates the main sources of maintenance and reduces the cost of maintenance.

We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We utilized these services to instruct the robot on how to begin, stop, or pause cleaning sessions and also to move around the room, and vacuum a particular area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and easy with the iRobot Home app. Once connected, to voice commands to the i7+ for example "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options for managing i7+ settings and evaluating performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is a sports car in a world of cordless vacuums that feel like minivans and buses. It's powerful enough to replace a traditional stand-up vacuum in most homes, but it is also compact enough to fit on the bookcase or coffee table.

The V10 is powered by a Lithium-ion battery with 7 cells of energy, which produces energy that lasts for 60 minutes. The advanced whole-machine filter system is able to trap allergens and then lets cleaner air into your home. Its specialized head uses stiff nylon bristles to penetrate into carpets and collect large particles or fine dust. It has three suction modes that can be adjusted to the task. It quickly converts from automatic floor vacuum vac to handheld vacuum and back again.

This model has a dock which charges the Dyson to 100% within 3.5 hours. It also offers an easy access to two attachments and an wand. This is a big improvement over earlier Dysons models, which take a long time to charge and are a pain to store.

The main issue with the V10 is its short running time. As CR's tests have shown, its marketing claims of up to 60 minutes are a bit misleading. This is a typical, not exceptional, battery-powered vacuum's run time. This is still enough to vacuum the majority of a home that's average size but not long enough to cover every area (though an additional run-through often does the trick). This model has its own advantages however: it's light and more mobile than previous Dysons cordless models and its ability to vacuum is noticeable superior on carpets with low pile.

4. iRobot Roomba 694

The 694 is a basic robotic vacuum that's a great option for those who don't have a lot of money to spend on the latest model of robot. It was able to remove most types of debris and sizes in our tests, and frequently went over the same area many times for an efficient clean. The flat front of the unit allows it to reach into corners and along the walls' edges and walls, which is a nice feature.

Its intelligent navigation system makes use of iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate around your home, but it isn't equipped with the mapping capability of more sophisticated models such as our top picks, the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. It may get stuck on cords for phones or furniture that is low and is often unable to supply power before returning to its home base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum cleaner review is superior in many ways over the Roomba 694 because it has fewer components that require regular cleaning, comes with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, incurs lower costs for recurring expenses and has more advanced automation capabilities and is better able to move its own. It also has a bigger dustbin and can charge faster.

The eufy RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 in most reasons, since it has a longer battery life, the ability to change the suction power mode by hand, comes with physical boundary strips, and can be operated by your phone's voice assistant. It also feels more sturdy and has a more powerful motor, and works better on both bare floors and low-pile carpet, while providing a wider array of automation features.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a name is seen on a variety of home electronics So it's no surprise that they're also one of the top mop and robot vacuum manufacturers. Jet Bot AI+ has an advanced onboard technology that allows to navigate and avoid obstacles.

The app offers a variety of options to customize your robotic cleaner. These include mopping levels, virtual barriers and behavior customizations docking frequency settings and more. The app is simple to navigate and use, just like other Samsung devices.

In our testing, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors, and also handled dog hair (on carpet) very well, picking up 86% of it. However, it didn't do particularly well at avoiding higher-up objects like cords or socks, which was disappointing. It's also a little more expensive than the other models we tried and could be a deterrent for certain shoppers.

The smart vacuum comes with an onboard camera that is accessible via the app. You can also set up a live stream from the robot's cleaning station. This feature allows you to check in on your pets or children while you're away. The filter and the dustbin can be cleaned to ensure the quick and easy cleaning. The Jet Bot AI+ also comes with a clean station that's self-emptying, which helps keep the robot's dustbin clean and maximizes suction power for each cleaning run.

6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum

In contrast to other robotic vacuums that are specifically designed for carpets and hard floors, Black and Decker robots are designed specifically for hard floors. They feature an extra-wide cleaning path and a larger dustbin that holds 2X more debris than other models to keep the cleaning area clear for maximum runtime. Additionally, they come with two side sweepers that clean along edges and in corners. The POWERSERIES model also comes with AutoSense which adjusts the power level based on whether it is collecting surface dirt or embedded dirt. It also comes with a smart app that lets you see the virtual map and manage functions and schedules. Plus, you can monitor the status of the vacuum's battery and return it to its dock for charging by pressing a button. The app allows you to modify the LEDs on the best robot vacuum cleaner top of the vacuum so that you can determine where it is focused or if it has gotten stuck.

For instance my living room rug has a darkly colored border that can make it difficult for other robots I've tested. The HRV 425BL however, continued to move across the border without registering the edge. The ability to program weekly cleaning schedules is a fantastic time-saving feature.
