What Goes On Inside a Machine Coffee Maker?

First, the cold water is inserted through a hole in the reservoir's bottom, and into the aluminum tube underneath the resistive heating element. The hot water squirts from the top of the tube and then into a perforated plastic disc known as the shower head (or basket in certain machines). Here the hot water falls over the coffee grounds, picking up its oil essence while it does so.
Then the water flows down over the coffee before flowing back up through the filter into the pot. The pump's oscillating force is responsible for this.
