The most common problem that internal bifolding doors face is that they slide out of alignment. This could be due to loose screws, holes on the anchor/pivots or an unaligned bifold bi folding door repair. In the majority of cases, you can correct this with a few easy adjustments, however if the door isn't moving at all, it may need to be removed and replaced.

To remove the door you'll need an appropriate screwdriver, and possibly pliers (to aid in loosening any pins on the pivot that are stuck). The screwdriver can be used to loosen the locking levers on the bottom pivot bracket. The pliers are used for removing the pin.

This will allow you double examine the guide's spacing and alignment to make sure that everything is properly set up. The last step is to replace the door. If the guide is in the right position and functions in the correct way, then you're ready to proceed. Make sure that any screws or pins you loosened or removed must be replaced and tightened properly after you've finished.

Remove the Bottom Pivot

Bifold doors can be a beautiful addition to a home, but they may require to be tweaked or adjusted to keep them in good condition. While some of the less critical problems can be solved by keeping the doors in place, others will require them to be removed. However they can be ordered online from various suppliers.
