And it's compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can turn it on and off using your voice.

While the iRobot Home app is very user-friendly however, we've found it to be less reliable than other applications that work with robotic cleaners. It can take a long time to download updates, and at times it's difficult to know whether the update is functioning until you've seen it in the action.

2. Roborock Q5+

If you're looking for a vacuum that does more than just clean floors, your best automatic vacuum option is probably hybrid. These machines are equipped with a tank of water so they can mop and vacuum at the same time. They also have a range of extra features, including smart mapping, small obstacle avoidance, and even the capability to dry and wash mopping pads. The downside is that they can be pricey at full retail, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they are often reduced in price.

Roborock produces some of our favorite robotic vacuums and the Q5+ does not disappoint. This is the least expensive model in their auto-empty line. Although it doesn't have some of the more luxurious features (like no-go zones and multi-story memories) but it's a great choice when you're willing to make a few compromises to save a few dollars.

The Q5+ is noticeably soft around obstacles like tables and walls and walls, which makes it a good choice for homes with lots of furniture. It's also very thorough in cleaning up dust bunnies, which is an area where many cheaper robot vacuums can really be a bit sloppy. The Q5+'s navigation is top-quality, with a few misses along walls and in corners.

Like other Roborock devices as well, the Q5+ can be controlled with the buttons on the device itself or via the Roborock app. The app lets you start and stop cleaning. You can also set schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go areas, alter your home map, or re-label rooms.

If you decide to go with the Q5+, it comes with a new auto-empty dock that's designed specifically to make this robot simple to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver but once it's installed, emptying the bin can be done easily. It also has a large LCD display that is great to have when you're creating schedules or changing settings. This feature isn't required for most people but it can help easily keep the robot's maintenance schedules.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot vacuum and mop that's impressively clever in its mopping and vacuuming capabilities. Its design and functionality are among the top available however it's expensive.

The base station looks nice and is hidden when it's not in use, and its size is quite compact. But the station's main selling factor is its ability to automate many tasks and functions that other robots leave up to you. It can keep clean and dirty water and also electrolyze and warm the water. Many other robots require you to do this.

And its vacuuming is impressive and efficient, too. It's the only robovacs that I've tried that does an excellent job of collecting debris from plain floors, and is not nearly as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot the 900 series.

The Freo X Ultra is not without flaws, especially when it comes to navigation. Its laser sensors and LiDAR sensors aren’t as reliable as other robot vacuums. This means that it could get stuck or get confused in certain corners or rooms in the home. It can't navigate stairs as well as competitors, either, and it doesn't have a dock that lets you to set up an exclusive cleaning zone for carpets with plush padding.

While it doesn't offer as much in the way of cleaning-related options in its app, or as many shortcuts within the app as some other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still a top choice for those seeking a great all-round mop and vacuum cleaner that's worth the higher price cost.

If you're looking for a way to save money or aren't concerned about the limitations of the robot, there are plenty of other options available. A lot of eufy models are considerably less. The eufy Qrevo curv, for example is a bit more expensive, but offers more features, such as stairs and a fully-function Dock, that provides an improved overall experience when vacuuming on bare floors, low-pile carpets as well as high-pile ones.

4. eufy RoboVac G30

eufy is an Anker company with an established track record of making robot vacuums with the right combination of performance, features, and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning on carpets and hard flooring, and mopping capabilities for a low cost. It's easy to setup simply by snapping one of the side brushes on, turn it on and plug in the charging dock. The app takes you through several steps to connect it to your Wi-Fi, and the G30 is ready to go. The dock must be located near an outlet and have plenty of space to move.

Its design is more modest than other models, sporting sleek black finishes and three buttons that are physical such as Auto Cleaning start/pause, Recharge, and Spot Cleaning (which cleans the area in an arc for two minutes). It is also possible to connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home for voice commands to perform unscheduled cleaning.

The primary aspect that distinguishes the G30 apart from its competitors is the method it cleans. It uses an integrated map to draw a picture of the immovable items that are in its path.
