Path of Exile Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a common and essential way to boost the performance of many items in Path of Exile. They can be a great source of additional damage, more AD or even more attachments.

Rare-grade equipment can be superior to upgraded Common or Magic equipment because of their high requirements.

Armor

Armor upgrades can be applied to both weapon and armor items. They improve the stats of the item upgrader that they're attached to. Upgrades to armor are available in the world of the game and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. Alternatively, they can also be salvaged from items with upgrade components in them with a professional or higher salvage kit.

The level of an armor's or weapon's upgrade determines the amount of damage it is able to take on. The damage absorption of a piece armor will increase as it is upgraded to the highest upgrade level. It is important to keep in mind that this will increase the weight of the armor, so it should be heavier.

There are a variety of armor upgrades that are available in the game. Each one has a distinct impact. Some upgrades give armor a greater amount of health points while others make it stronger and lighter. The type of armor upgrade that an item level upgrade can receive is indicated by the name of the upgrade, as shown in the table below.

Some of the upgrades also require magic or a combination of technology and magic, which are shown by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table. Some upgrades also require charges in order to be used. These are indicated as "Charges" entries in the table. These charges are either continuously updated or never expire depending on the upgrade.

The cheapest method to upgrade armor is with Iron Ore, which can be found by exploring the area and looting chests of minor loot. Titanium is more expensive but can be found at the smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Some upgrades, such as the Reforge and the Hot Potato Books, can only be applied to high-level armor pieces. These upgrades can give significant boost to stats and are worth the investment, especially for 1-handed weapons.

The process of upgrading an armor piece to the highest upgrade level will dramatically increase its defense values however, the user must be aware that putting on weight can drastically decrease its speed and agility. It is not recommended to upgrade armor past +9. The boost in defense usually isn't worth the weight and power costs of the upgrades.

Weapons

Weapon upgrades allow players to enhance certain aspects of their weapon. For example an upgrade could increase the damage dealt by the shells of a shotgun or the accuracy of the rifle sniper. Some weapons also have special upgrades that improve their innate characteristics. Frictionless materials (improves stability, reduces the risk of the risk of overheating) and Kinetic coils (increases the projectile's speed for greater damage) are two examples.

The majority of upgrades to weapons require a whetblade, one of three Power Dices and a different amount Minerals and Erons. These can be obtained by finishing side quests, killing a certain amount of monsters or bosses or by contacting the Weapon Upgrade NPC located in Central Flarine.

The process of upgrading a weapon, equipment Set piece or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade cost of a certain number of Bars. The higher the upgrade level, the more bars are required to complete it. If you have multiple upgrade materials, the cost of upgrading will be lower.

In Chapter 2: Season 5, the way you upgrade your equipment and weapon sets was a bit different. Prior to Chapter 2: Season 5 you could upgrade your weapon and equipment by paying a specific number of Bars. You could do this until the weapon or equipment reached its maximum upgrade level and at that point, the upgrades would reset.

You can still do this but the process is high on RNG and low on agency. Instead, you're much better off going to the stores and purchasing equipment with low upgrade levels but good base scores and stat distributions. These will then have a better chance of bringing you the highest tier perks and blessings.

To level up quicker, players usually prioritise upgrading their weapons. In addition to these, players should consider upgrading the weapons favored by their teammates to make them more powerful as well. Shepard, for example should upgrade his M92F in order to unlock the Beretta M93R. This will make the weapon more useful when used in conjunction with biotic specialists like Grunt and Tali.

Jewels

Jewels are utilized in the sockets of armor and weapons, increasing the power of a character and bringing about secondary effects. They can be created using an process known as jewelry crafting, in which you combine a gem and various ingredients at a table for jewelry. The higher the grade of the jewel the better the secondary effect. These reagents can be found around the world from Treasure Goblins, World Bosses and, sometimes, by salvaging Legendary equipment. You can also purchase them from The Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Prism.

The Jeweler can improve the quality of the gem in stages that range from Crude up to Royal. The stat boosts will vary according to the tier that the jewel is at when it's slotted into jewelry, weapons, or equipment.

The Jeweler is able to create all tiers of gems, apart from the rare and legendary ones, which require certain levels to gain. Jewels can be replaced with another one without damaging the original. However, you can only replace the jewels in a piece of equipment once.

It is normal to use more gems for aesthetic reasons. Jewels also enhance performance and make a harder surface than steel, so that the repeated friction from pivots do not cause damage to the movement.

A Glyphmaster can provide glyphs that can enhance the look of your shields and weapons. These glyphs give a slight boost and can be freely swapped, but they are not guaranteed to show up as loot. Glyphs, just like jewelry, can be upgraded by the Jeweler in exchange for gold and Scattered Crystals. Glyphs can also be removed, which returns them to the inventory. Other upgrade components, such as traits or aegis cannot be exchanged, and can only be retrieved through an upgrade extractor or salvaging using Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage tool.

Trinkets

Trinkets are small pieces of equipment that provide an array of small but useful advantages to your hero. They can be acquired starting in the areas of starting as loot, personal story rewards, from vendors, and through performing road interactions. They can be found on the Trading Post, or crafted by jewelers.

The first trinket that a player will be able to unlock is the cloak. It gives a small but beneficial boost in movement speed and evasion. After that, they'll be able to purchase amulets, rings and necklaces in the same manner to the way a player acquires armor and weapons. Each piece of equipment has an upgrade slot that can be either universal or jewel. Universal upgrades offer fewer benefits and can be used in any type of equipment while jewelry cannot be changed or upgraded, and is only compatible with certain kinds of trinkets.

These trinkets can also grant bonuses and abilities that are active whenever the hero is not fighting. This allows the hero to be more efficient when they are not active. It can also compensate for the lack of a excellent slot in the talent tree or team which would normally be filled by a hero's top stats.

As a general rule, trinket upgrades should prioritize BiS (Best in Slot) items that you aren't likely to replace anytime soon. Next, any items with desirable statistics that are less significant than the iLevel for the item upgrading that is to be upgraded. This is particularly true if an item upgrader mod has multiple stats you'd like to upgrade as it's usually better to upgrade just one important stat than two sub-optimal ones.

At the beginning of the game players in the jungle are likely to upgrade their yellow trinket into a red one, while top and mid players usually choose either a pink or green ward (depending on the matchup). These choices can affect the ability of a hero to control the map.

Aside from the items mentioned above, players may also find a number of other items in the form of awards and trophies. These can be obtained by completing certain milestones in the story. For example, completing the main quest for a chapter or defeating the boss. You can check them out by selecting the achievement in the reward section of the hero's menu.image?url=https%3A%2F%2Fimg.clash.gg%2Fstandard%2F167d6df06b58794b8551e752b89244d6.png&w=256&q=75
