Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and mop offer the convenience of removing dry debris (dust dirt, grit) and wet messes (spills and stains) in one time without having to swap out devices. They also can save space compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living areas.
A good combination bot should be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacle avoidance. Look for models that automatically empty their bin and refill their water tank and machine-wash their mopping pads with a dedicated dock.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has plenty to offer at a modest price and is one of the easiest robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking is easy and the quick-start guide gets you up and running in no time with an entire dust bag, water tank and a hard floor.
The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that mops up a storm and vacuums well too. Its mops spin at high speeds and exert 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of pet hair, dirt, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, a variety of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app that lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.
You could, for instance request the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly but leave the spare bedroom alone. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and smart navigation technology are excellent too and the robot hoover is capable of detecting tiny obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. Its only drawback is that it tends to crash into walls and objects at a high speed, but an instant glance at the cleaning history in the app will tell you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading and the obstacles it's run into or avoided.
The docking station comes with an LCD display that shows when maintenance is needed, such as emptying debris and cleaning the dirty water tank. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank, with a 600ml bottle of the eufy's solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop have plenty of run-time, with the mop capable of operating for an 184-minute runtime in Quiet mode and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in normal mode, before having to recharge or return to the base to replenish. The app is easy to use and intuitive, allowing you to see all the details of the cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's most popular robot mop and vacuum. In contrast to the model of last year this one has two agitators in its mopping pad, which significantly improves its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has improved suction power, allowing it to pick up small hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners could miss.
Like the two other Roborock models I've tried, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology which can help it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by adding a dual camera which can recognize objects and determine whether they're a wall or another surface. It then can alter its path in a way that is automatic hoover and clean around them without missing a step.
This is the most expensive of the three models I've examined, but it's also the most loaded with features. Its sleek, angular design is striking, and it only has three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which also restarts the cleaning mop button, which doubles up as a child-lock and a home-button that can bring the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml of water tank. The water tank automatically empties and the bin auto-refills.
The only issue I have discovered with this model was that the VibraRise mop pad mount is not removable. While you can swap out the mopping cloth (if needed), it's a pain to take off the mount itself for manual washing. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot passes will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, and can cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of clever features, including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can manage and set up these via the Roborock app which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app lets you schedule cleanings and monitor the battery's life. However, you'll have to go through a few hoops to enable voice control with this model which is a pity considering the performance of this model.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is an industry leader with cutting-edge features, high suction power and cutting-edge mowing abilities. Its intelligent design allows users to tailor and effectively clean while saving time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to offer 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful options available. This powerful vacuum can clean up pet hair as well as crumbs and other dry debris. It has a mop of top quality that cleans hard floors without using pads. The X40 is also extremely quiet when in operation, with only occasional bursts during mode changes or self-maintenance.
Another noteworthy feature is the X40's expandable and liftable side brushes, which lets it get into difficult-to-access corners as well as clean curved furniture like table and chair legs. The Best robot vacuum uk can also reach under low-profile furnishings which makes it an ideal option for apartments with small spaces or condos. The side brush also automatically lowers itself when it spots wet spots. This is a nice addition that helps the X40 keep floors safe from damage caused by the frequent back-and-forth movement.
Unlike other robots, which are limited to one task, the X40 can mop and vacuum at the same time. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors and skip carpeted areas, and reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is intuitive and easy to use, and the X40's smart features are a breeze to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at certain times. They can also adjust suction power, alter modes, look at floor plans and maps, and manage mopping setting. The X40 can also track its progress and notify you when it's done.
The X40 is easy to keep clean and has many features which make it a good option for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin into a large 3.2 L bin, cleans mop pads and refills them with clean water and cleaning solution. It can also detect if the mop pad has reached its capacity to the max and alert you to the situation before it spills.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available. However, it has a number of characteristics that make it stand out. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub that utilizes two mops that are high-speed to clean floors more thoroughly than the conventional method, and it comes with an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can clean pet hair and smaller dirt particles - and also pick up spills and wet spots.
Its mops are also cleaned and dried inside the base station after each use. This is a great feature since it prevents the growth of odours and mould in storage, and it also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we haven't seen in other robot vacuum and mop models. It could be a great way to keep your home cleaner longer.
There's a plethora of settings on offer, including the possibility to schedule cleaning appointments and alter a variety of preferences. These can be set via the app or buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and has many options for customizing your cleaning routine. It also has many functions that are not available on other robots, like the Clean Genius Mode, which automatically increases suction whenever it detects dust particles.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen on market, sporting metallic and white colors that is elegant and stylish. It's a bit heavier than some of the other two-in-one robots in this list - at 4kg but it's not too heavy, and is sturdy and well-built. The mopping system is well designed, and the double rotating mop is a great choice for hard floors or in corners. They can also reach down to 2mm of baseboards due to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice touch.
