1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro and its sibling the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've test. They feature motors that are top of the quality and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. And, like other premium iRobot models (including the top-rated model), they use smart mapping technology to create precise floor plans and eliminate household obstacles such as cords and furniture legs. They also have carpet boost which boosts the robot's power when it spots an abundance of dirt on the carpet to get it cleaned up quickly.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored excellently in our tests on bare floors, and they are particularly adept in cleaning hair from dogs. However, they do have some flaws that prevent them from being our top pick. For instance, the Q5's navigation system does not have AI-powered obstacle avoidance which means it's susceptible to become entangled in socks and shoes and couldn't navigate tightly packed rooms very efficiently in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that would let it see the corners of a room.

It's still a good deal particularly if your home or office has lots of unfinished floors and you want to save money. Additionally, it's quiet and you can use it when you're at work or at school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming that is offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping, using disposable wet wipes that don't stay on very well and can't take on dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. And, if you have to, you can swap the mopping pad to dry ones in just a few just a few seconds.

The RX3 is a cleaner with more intelligence than you'd think from its price. It's a pro at cleaning, removing 55% of the debris we found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with one pad and a rotating motion that cleans better that most of the robot vacuum uk mop cleaners that we've examined. It's also self-sufficient with a full-featured app and a self-emptying, washable base.
