The best robot hoover can vacuum and mop without needing your attention. It will leave your floors clean. Its low cost and top-of-the-line features (such as dirt detection) are pluses.

Examine your robot's brush frequently for tangled debris and hair. Clean them as needed. Some models can also automatically empty their onboard dust bin into a larger bin in the base, which reduces the amount of fine dust that is released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the pricier Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've test. They are equipped with motors that are top of the class and can handle up to 5,500 Pascals. Like other iRobots with premium features (including the top model) they employ smart mapping to produce precise floorplans that avoid obstacles like furniture leg. They also have carpet boost which boosts the robot's power when it sees an abundance of dirt on the carpet to get it clean quickly.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests of floors with no carpet, and they are particularly adept at cleaning hair from dogs. However, they do have a few flaws that keep them from being our top pick. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is that its navigation system doesn't feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's therefore prone to getting stuck on shoes and socks and could not navigate densely packed rooms very well in our tests. It also doesn't have an image sensor that lets it see the corners of the room.

It's still a great deal particularly if your home or office has a lot of unfinished flooring and you're looking to save some money. It's also quiet and operates while you're at work or at school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming that is available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective in mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 has self-emptying docks, however. And, if you have to, you can swap the mopping pad to dry ones in just a few just a few seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming into a compact, sleek package. Its intelligent cleaning maps and fluid navigation make it simple to clean, and efficient in dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also has a powerful suction and a self-emptying bin. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, but it lags behind some competitors in deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mops utilizes sensors to keep away from obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the patterns of your home over time and offer cleaner and more efficient cleaning. The app allows you to modify zones and alter the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average when compared to similar models.

It is possible to instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and to extend them when in a carpeted area to prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm is also perfect for getting under furniture that is low and along baseboards. It doesn't offer the same level of washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Professional+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During testing, X30 Ultra was the quickest robot vacuum/mop that could clean an entire home, with 66 per cent of its battery remaining. It did a great cleaning job on various floors and rooms with different flooring types, including some area rugs. Its obstacle detection was superb and it stayed clear of fake dog turds and socks, shoes and bundles cables.

It's a little more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, but it has superior suction, a dustbin on board that automatically emptys into its base, and it supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It is able to clean floors even after it has vacuumed. This is a feature we haven't seen in other robotic vacuum mop cleaner robot/mop combos.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

The robot vacuum and mop combination has a sleek, circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba model than the bulky models from the competitors. It's one of our most attractive robot vacuums. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also among its most advanced. It features advanced features such as enhanced dirt detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads autonomously).

It's also the only robotic vacuum or mop that scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in our tests. This is due to a combination high-tech sensors, including a structured light system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mops.

Like other iRobot models, the X40 is user-friendly, with an easy mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only real drawback is that it's a noisy unit that could be a problem if you run it in the morning before work, or at night when you attempt to sleep.

It's also a bit expensive, though it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs Omni or Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are equally powerful and better-looking. It's a dual-purpose vacuum that is very efficient however it's more expensive and create more noise.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with many advanced features to help you get rid of your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning device like Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It has a multifunction dock which automatically emptys the bin of the vacuum and refills the water tank, as well as washes and drys the mop pads.

The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floor plans and detect obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its top competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera to detect hazards in real-time, although this wasn't quite foolproof in our testing and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.

The vacuum has a suction capacity of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to get the job done. It also has "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the intensity at which the vacuum works and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of the home in accordance with the amount of dirt they tend to be.

For larger homes, it's worth opting for models that has zone or spot cleaning modes that let you tell the robot to clean a specific area of your home using the app or voice controls. A stair mode can be useful if you own a large furniture. Additionally a recharge and resume function that lets your robot vacuum pick up right where it left off is great for busy families.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you might imagine from its price. It is a great job vacuuming, picking up 55% of the debris that was found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using one pad and a reciprocating motion which is cleaner than the majority of the mop cleaners with robots that we've tried. And it's highly self-sufficient with a full-featured app and an auto vacuum and mop-emptying, washable base.

The well-designed iRobot app will guide you through an initial mapping session that collects data about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you set on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, arrange an area for cleaning or to sort out your rooms with the most dirt to ensure better performance. The app also grants access to a host of features like seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.

Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums, which means it is able to reach corners and underneath furniture better. It has an impressive 8000 Pascal suction, as well as sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. You can also set up a spot-clean which will thoroughly clean the area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and cheaper alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras appear like cute eyes. It's good at vacuuming, but it is more susceptible to getting caught on low thresholds and is noisier than the other top robotic vacuums we've tried. It also has a less intuitive app and a tiny base station that doesn't double as an emptying bin.robotic-vacuum-cleaner-cleaning-the-room-while-wom-2024-11-07-13-20-10-utc-min-jpg-original.jpg
