The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at good robot vacuum Housekeeping.
He tests and evaluates cleaning equipment, focusing on mopping and robot vacuum combos. Multitaskers are ideal for those looking to remove mopping from their list of tasks. Some have great mapping and obstacles avoidance. Some even wash and refill mopping pads themselves for a hands-free cleaning.
The Eufy S1 Pro
If you're looking to buy a robot vacuum reviews vacuum that also mops then this is the model you should go for. It is smaller than other options which makes it more maneuverable in tight spaces or under furniture. It features a 220 degree lidar, which when combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it the best navigation and object avoidance I've ever seen in a robotic vacuum. It has a 4600mAh battery that can last up to 170 minutes when mopping and sucking is set to standard mode. (It can run longer on turbo). It will even return to its dock to recharge its battery in mid-clean.
It's fast and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums the carpeted rooms incredibly quickly and the hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways in a single pass. Its motor of 8,000pa is able to remove dirt hair, pet hair, and even droppings easily. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects rugs and the double side brushes help to clean debris from corners.
The mopping performance is less impressive, but not by a lot. The mop rotates at a high speed and is pushed down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly scrubbing up dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arms protrude out slightly more than other robots, which is helpful to get into tight corners and on baseboards. The front arms can also be used to scoop up larger debris like books and broken toys.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mops and vacuums I've used. It is quieter and doesn't produce as much noise when mopping or vacuuming. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it needs to use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It is easy to install, and it works well. However, if you are buying this vacuum solely for mopping purposes it is important to pay attention to this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It is a powerful machine for cleaning with a range of features.
The device comes with an extremely powerful and impressive cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensors with an RGB camera to map the home and detect furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean intelligently and efficiently. This ensures an efficient and consistent cleaning and is also quick.
The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad can reach many surfaces. This includes baseboards, corners and other difficult to reach areas. They also come with a stretchy side brush that extends to reach the floor near walls and other fixtures. Additionally, the mop pads can be washed and dried to avoid build-up and lessen odors.
App-based customization is a different interesting feature. The Q Revo lets you alter the suction level and select a back-and forth or slightly random pattern. You can also choose the number of passes which will determine how quickly it can move around your home. You can also choose to disable the side brush to avoid damaging carpets and rugs.
It's expensive, but it comes with a lot of smart features. It is important to keep in mind that the device will incur regular expenses, such as mopping supplies and regular maintenance. For instance brushrolls need to be replaced every six to 12 months or after 300 hours. The filter is recommended to be cleaned after 150 hours, and mop pads should be changed every three month.
The robot vacuum cleaner vacuum mop has an excellent Amazon rating and comes with a wide range of physical automation features. The automatic vacuum cleaner also has an power button that doubles as a 'Clean button' as well as a 'Home button that allows it to go back home after cleaning. It also has a multifunctional dock that automatically emptys the trash bin and refills its water tank for mopping and washes and dries its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be an ideal option for busy professionals or anyone who needs to keep their home neat without spending too much time doing chores. Its incredibly fast performance, sophisticated navigation, and long battery life allow you to keep a clean home with minimal effort.
The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a 2-in-1 vacuum and mop. It is able to perform vacuuming as well as mopping. The robot has two modules: a combined dry bin and water reservoir and a separate mopping system with a microfiber pad that snaps into and out of position. Separate modules for mopping and vacuuming may seem a bit old-fashioned but they're a good thing because that you don't need to worry about changing bags for disposables or refilling the water tank.
The Matrix Plus performed well at vacuuming and mopping. Its best feature is its precise floorplan map, which it employs when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate between rugs, furniture, and other obstacles. The app also offers the option to set "No-Go zones" as well as virtual barriers that help to protect certain areas of your home from being swept with a mop.
We also found that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well at picking up hair of pets. It was able capture the majority of hair that our cats shed and even got into the nooks and crannies of our stairs which other robots struggled. It was silent and also had a few pleasant jingles that let you know when it was beginning or completing its task.
Its biggest drawbacks were its simple app and the requirement to swap out the modules when switching between mopping and vacuuming. The app can't save multiple maps. This could be an issue if your house has several floors. The Matrix Plus is a good option for those who want a smart robot that can do both mopping and vacuuming.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive robotic vacuum that is able to mop in our review, however it has some distinct features that make it worth a look. The X1 Omni is most well-known for its massive dock that serves as an charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two water tanks of 4 liters. It also houses the 2.5-liter dust bin and a 2.5 liter dust bin.
The base also has a number of control buttons that let you manually start a cleaning job, recall the robot, or run the dock's auto-emptying process. Hold down two of the buttons to turn off the child lock, which is a nice touch for parents worried about their children playing with the vacuum.
The X1 Omni, like other robotic vacuums uses its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path. It will avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni can occasionally become so entangled with an obstruction, such as an electrical cord dangling across a rug, that it gets stuck and ceases to function until you remove it manually. This was a rare occurrence however it was frustrating because the X1 doesn't have a "stuck status" alert on its application.
Another potential downside is one of the biggest drawbacks is X1 Omni's inability to automatically change between vacuuming and mopping modes during a cleaning session. You will need to manually switch between the two, which isn't an issue aside from the fact that the mopping pads aren't cleaned and dried between use, which can lead to mildew or mold.
On the positive side, the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot vacuums that mop, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a big contrast to the basic black bases of rivals like Roborock or iRobot. And it's a welcome sight for the market that is dominated by boxy units.
