It comes with a 220 degree Lidar that, when combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, offers some of my favorite navigation and object avoidance features I've seen in the form of a robotic automatic vacuum and mop. It's got a battery of 4600mAh that can last for up to 170 minutes if mopping and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can run longer on turbo). It can even return to the dock to top up its battery part way through a clean.

It is very fast and does an excellent job cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms quickly and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen, and hallways with just one motion. Its 8,000pa suction motor is quick at picking up dirt, droppings, and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects rugs and the dual side brush helps to remove debris from corners.

The mopping efficiency, while still impressive, is not as good. The mop rotates at a high velocity and it pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, easily cleaning up dirt and staining. I've also noticed that the front arms protrude out slightly more than other robots, which is useful to maneuver around tight corners and along baseboards. The front arms can also be used to scoop up larger objects such as books and toys that have been damaged.

Another great feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mops I've tried. It is quieter and doesn't produce more noise when vacuuming or mopping. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it has to utilize a specific mopping solution and is sold separately. It is easy to set up and works well. However should you purchase this robot vacuum to mop it is important to pay attention to this.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive in our review. However, it has certain unique features that make it worth looking into. The X1 Omni's main draw is its huge dock that doubles as a charging base as well as housing for two 4 liter water tanks, a sink for cleaning as well as an best automatic vacuum 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically empties.

The base has a few control buttons, which allow you to manually begin a cleaning task or recall the robot, or use the dock's auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two buttons to turn off the child lock. The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch from mopping to vacuuming mode during cleaning. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad, except that the mopping pad doesn't get cleaned or dried between uses. This can cause mildew and mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed the sleek modern base and mopping pad. It's a significant change from the utilitarian all-black bases that are used by rivals like Roborock and iRobot and is a refreshing appearance in a market which is dominated by clunky, boxy units.
