Maintaining them in good shape requires emptying the dust bin following every cleaning session, wiping down the cameras and sensors occasionally and changing filters and side brushes as needed.

But its obstacle avoidance still gets tangled up with cords and socks and it misses dirt close to baseboards.

iRobot Roomba 694"

The Roomba 694 is an entry-level robot vacuum that has dual brush rollers (one bristle and one rubber) to clean dirt, dust and other debris from bare floors. It also comes with three-spoked rotating brushes that removes debris from wall edges and corners. The Roomba 694 does a great job of removing pet hair. However, it may leave a few hairs in carpet fibers after multiple cleaning cycles.

The 694 is a reliable self-manipulator and doesn't get stuck in low furniture or cords. It's not equipped with advanced obstacle-avoidance technology and its battery could be exhausted before returning to its dock.

It's still a good choice if you want an inexpensive robot vacuum that's easy to operate. You can control it manually by using the Clean, Dock, and Spot Clean buttons on its top or by voice commands via your preferred voice assistant. It is compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, and it can follow Siri commands from Shortcuts for iOS.

You can also manage the Roomba 694 remotely from anywhere by downloading the iRobot Home app on your tablet or smartphone. The app lets you create custom cleaning schedules as well as monitor the robot cleaner commercial's performance. You can even use the app to cancel the cleaning task in progress, if needed. The iRobot Home app can send out error alerts when the robot encounters a problem, such as if it is pushed into a furniture crevice.

While the Roomba 694 does a great job of navigating itself around the house, it's not built to be used on narrow paths or stairs. It doesn't do a great job of vacuuming carpets with low piles and leaves behind a lot of tufts and hair clumps. If you have a lot of low-pile carpet in your home, you might think about an alternative robot vacuum.

This model, unlike the Roomba S9 which has an onboard HEPA Filter, doesn't have a bin that automatically empties itself. Its dirt compartment inside is moderately sized however, you'll have empty it after every cleaning session. The iRobot Home app lets you review the history of the cleaning tasks that Roomba has completed as well as their time and date, how they were initiated (app scheduling, app, or with the physical buttons on the robot) and their duration, and their status as completed.

The iRobot 694 is superior to the Coredy R550 because it feels more solidly built, incurs lower annual costs, has a larger dustbin that charges faster, moves over obstacles such as electrical cords with less difficulty, and performs better on carpet with a high pile and bare floors. The application that comes with it provides an array of more advanced automation features. The Roomba 694 is not as good as the Shark IQ robotic cleaner, which has a larger dirt compartment, can last longer on a single charge and is equipped with physical boundary strips that prevent it from entering certain areas.

Roomba 960 by iRobot

The Roomba 960 is one of the most advanced robot vacuums manufactured by iRobot. It comes with a variety of features that distinguish it from other robots. They include advanced dirt detection technology and map-saving technologies. It also has a powerful cleaning system and is compatible with Alexa. This is a great option for those looking to purchase an advanced robot vacuum with WiFi connectivity and outstanding cleaning performance.

The 960 is a circular robot equipped with two brushrolls made of rubber and three caster wheels to ensure stability. It is easy to lift and lower since it weighs only 3.9kg. You can buy it with or without docking system, depending on what you prefer. The docking station is essential to keep the Roomba fully charged and connected when it is not working. The docking station is a practical and simple method of keeping your robot clean and charged even when it's not in use.

iRobot designed the 960 to work well on floors that are not bare and carpet. Its performance is exceptional on hard surfaces, and it is able to effortlessly remove pet hair. It also does an excellent job of picking up large debris like Kitty litter and cereal. It does not perform as well on carpets with high pile. It is able to pick up pet hair, as well as some larger particles, but it struggles with smaller particles such as sand. Some sand gets stuck between the brushes and the dirt compartment.

In a test using the oats of quaker the 960 performed admirably in capturing the majority of the scattered powder. The vacuum's robotic design is capable of maneuvering through a variety of furniture and obstacles, and the circular design allows it to be tucked away under the legs of chairs. The 960 is Alexa compatible and can be controlled via voice commands. It can be programmed to return automatically to its charging station.

The 960 requires a bit of maintenance that includes regular replacement of the dust bin, filter and the spinning brush. These components should be replaced every few months to keep them in good working order. Also, you should clean the dirt compartment sensors regularly. These components will make the Roomba perform at its peak and last longer if they are kept in good condition.

The 960 has some shortcomings, but overall it is a great robotic automatic vacuum cleaners. It's costly however, it is worth it if you want an appliance that cleans well. It also comes with a range of features that make it a great choice for those with hectic life. The iRobot app is simple to use, and the Roomba can be scheduled to clean at certain times. It comes in a variety of colors and finishes so that you can match the Roomba with your home decor.

Roomba 960 by iRobot

The Roomba 980 is the most sophisticated robotic vacuums vacuum in iRobot's current lineup. Its full set of navigation sensors enables it to maneuver under and around furniture, and along edges, and Cliff Detect helps to prevent it from falling down stairs. The multi-surface brushes sift dirt and debris from any kind of floor, while accelerating debris to the suction channel.

iRobot's vSLAM technology can record the surroundings as it moves, forming visual landmarks to help it remember where it's been and avoid bumping into walls and objects. The camera also identifies dirty areas, prompting the Roomba to automatically boost suction power, and then move over these areas several times before moving on.

Users can designate digital Keep Out zones to prevent the Roomba entering areas in the home that they don't want it to enter. This feature was added to the app in October, 2019. This is an important addition to the already-strong suite of features found on the Roomba 980, and should prove to be a valuable device for many people.

After a two-hour clean-up, the Roomba 980 automatically returns to its docking station to recharge. This is the only robot in its class with this feature. It lets you leave your robot at work when you're away for long periods of time. Remote control in the app allows users to start and stop cleaning sessions from anywhere in the world.

The Roomba App is easy to use and easy to understand. The main screen features a large clean button which can be activated by a single touch. The bottom row of icons allows quick access to settings such as cleaning preferences, weekly schedules and much more. You can also connect the app to your smart assistant of choice to make voice commands.

It may take a long time for the Roomba app to recognize a command. It's a nagging flaw on the machine that is heavily dependent on its intelligent controls, and it's particularly egregious given that the 980 is expensive.

The flagship model from iRobot, the Roomba 980 is an impressive piece of machinery. Its powerful cleaning capabilities and battery life of up to two hours, and smart features make it among the top robot vacuums on the market. However, the absence of a remote control that is specifically designed for it and slow-running app mean it's not as flexible as other models. However, the 980 is still a great choice for those looking for an efficient vacuum that takes the burden off of itself. Be prepared to spend a little more.
