World of Warcraft Upgrades

Upgrades are the components that can be added to equipment to give it various bonus effects. Upgrades can range from stat boosts to increased proc probability of amazing equip effects to stat boosts.

The item upgrade system operates differently than you may be used to from other MMORPGs. This guide will cover the fundamentals of how it works and some tips and tricks.

Rerolling

A player can upgrade items such as trinkets, weapons, and armor up to level 9 by visiting an upgrader NPC. These NPCs can be found by searching for them on the map or talking to a seller. Upgrading an equipment weapon or set piece results in the item becoming stronger and receiving new benefits. It can take a lot of time to gather the materials needed to upgrade an item upgrader kit, but the rewards are worth it.

An upgrade to a gear requires a certain number of Power Dices, Minerals and Erons to complete. Power Dices are dropped by monsters in levels 21+ zones and can be obtained through the scavenging system, or purchased from the NPCs that upgrade items. Minerals and Erons can be obtained through crafting or can be purchased from item upgraders. The upgrade process will also remove any previous upgrades. However, the resultant items can still be used.

The upgrade pity system, introduced with the 2.6.0 gear rework, lowers the extreme variance in the chance of upgrading. This means that players will have a better likelihood of receiving the desired item of evolution when spinning the Pokestop or Gym.
