types of window handles of UPVC Door Handles
It's important to choose the appropriate replacement handle made of upvc for your home if handles made of upvc require replacement. Locksmiths can supply and install high-security uPVC door handles that come with additional security features.
The most important measurements are measurement A (known as PZ) and the length of the backplate (measurement F). Check these measurements to ensure the new uPVC handle will fit.
Lever/Lever
A lever is a rigid bar that is pivotally positioned around a point (known as a fulcrum). When you apply force to the end of the lever it will tend to rotate the fulcrum in the direction of the force applied. This rotates the force and lets you lift or move things that normally require more force to lift.
The distance between the fulcrum and the point where you apply the force determines the distance the lever is able to move. This is known as the mechanical advantage. The advantage of mechanical force increases when the lever is extended. You can calculate the mechanical advantage by dividing distance from fulcrum point to the point you are applying force by distance between fulcrum point and the end of the lever.
Levers can also have a variety of effects based on how the forces are applied. For instance the class 2 lever has a tendency to turn in the opposite direction when the force of effort is applied (like a T-totter). If you push on the handle of a door the force will create similar rotational effects to this.
However, levers don't create energy. They just multiply the force you exert by converting a small amount of effort over a large distance into a larger amount of force applied over a shorter distance. This is what allows you to complete more work in less time, which is why levers are commonly used to lift heavy objects or moving large amounts of cargo. This is also the principle behind levers found in many everyday tools, such as crowbars, fishing rods hammer claws and even your legs when you sit on the hand brake of your vehicle.
Lever/Pad
Lever pad handles are a kind of upvc door handle that have levers on both sides to operate the multipoint lock. Lever pad handles are available in a variety of finishes & variations and can be installed on a wide range of materials, including UPVC doors, old aluminium window handles doors & Timber Doors. They are sold as a pair for the outer and inner door, with screws and spindles included. They are also available in hand and unhanded versions for different types of users.
They can be used to replace the existing doors made of upvc. They are typically operated by lifting the levers, which throw out all of the multipoint locks and turning the key to close or unlock. They offer a little more security than traditional lever door handles, as the locking can only be performed through the inside with a key.
They are not as secure as a cylinder bolt but are a cost-effective option to provide extra home security. The only disadvantage is that they don't have the same level of security as a cylinder bolt and therefore don't stop external access in the event that the door has been left open.
We stock a large number of lever pad upvc handles that are manufactured by leading manufacturers in the market. They will therefore be made from high-quality components. They also come with a manufacturers guarantee.
Typically, they are designed to work with a 92mm lock, or the replacement version of this called a Paddock lock. They will have an 82mm cylinder center on the inside, and 62mm outside. They are also fitted with two spindle followers. Some are inserted into the back plate whilst others are movable to allow for different fixing centers.
Lever/Snib
Lever latches are the most basic of door handles are used. Pressing down on the lever is a simple mechanism that opens inside to keep the door shut, and can be locked with keys. The levers for privacy are using the same principle, but with the addition of a lock snib (like the doorknob).
A snib can be a very useful tool, especially in homes where privacy and security are crucial. If your spouse is expected to arrive home late from work, you can apply the snib to ensure they won't be able to enter until they're ready to come in. This type of handle can also be put in on interior doors such as those in bedrooms, where you wish to restrict outside access.
In certain situations, snib buttons can cause issues, especially when you have older locks or doors that are warped. If the snib button is used in error or by someone who isn't quite used to it, the door can slam shut and shut you out. In most cases, you can be able to get in by knocking the door's frame or letterbox, but this isn't the best option.
If your uPVC door has a snib lock it is recommended to replace the handle with a modern E-LOK 7-Series smart lock. These smart locks can be retrofitted onto double turn pull handle kits. They come with coverplates that hide existing holes to make it a seamless installation. The E-LOK utilizes a smart app to enable you to unlock the door with mechanical keys or RFID cards, and can be configured with passcodes for safe entry and convenience. The system has been tested for 200,000 cycles in order to ensure long-lasting durability. The handles are made from solid metal and are in compliance with BS EN 1670 Grade 5 for corrosion resistance.
Lever/Moveable Pad
This is a very popular handle design for front doors. It has the benefit of keeping the door from opening from the outside without keys if the lock isn't deadlocked. This is accomplished through a 'pad' shaped external handle that locks into the gap between the handles and the lock case to stop the latch from being removed or the door being opened.
This handle is designed to work with uPVC multipoint locks which use split spindle mechanisms. This type of operation requires that the internal lever handle and the external pad handle are both fitted to the same lock case. This can be a simple switch from the current uPVC handles but it may also involve changing the lock case or a brand new set of handles to accommodate this additional function.
These aluminium lever/movable pad door handles are ideal for uPVC doors and feature a slide bearing that is maintenance-free, spring cassettes and fixing lugs provided. They have a euro profile cut out and are fitted to a variety of uPVC and timber doors.
The lever moveable pad is available in various designs to fit a broad selection of multipoint locks. They are designed to be used with split spindle multipoint locks that have a 92mm cylinder centre and require a specific split spindle set as supplied by the lock manufacturer.

It is comprised of two moveable inline handles and is lockable with either a key or thumbturn cylinder on the inside. Pad handles are an alternative to a lever/lever handle and consists of a fixed or movable pad that can be used to control the lock. These Fullex handles have a spring-loaded lever pads with snibs that can be turned on to hold the latch back.
