Top Robot Vacuums and Mop Combos

Robots aren't quite as adept at picking up debris like metal screws or chunks of pasta. However, they are excellent at sweeping dust, pet hair and food particles. The best models are equipped with smart navigation technology, which assists them in avoiding cords, toys, and other obstacles in the household.

1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO

The iRobot Roomba i3+ is an excellent robot vacuum that has a number smart features to make it easier to maintain. The automatic bin emptying feature is among the most expensive robot vacuum useful features we've seen in a robot and it is compatible with hard floors as well as carpets. The app guides you through the entire process. It's also easy to use and set up. Another feature that is impressive is the ability to return to where it was when we tested it. It did this for 77 mins on one cleaning before running out of battery.

Unlike some of the other robovacs that we tested, the i3+ EVO features a self-emptying bin that dumps debris into an external dirt compartment on its charging base when it's full. This makes it easier to maintain the unit and helps keep the i3+ EVO from overfilling, but it must be manually emptied after every cleaning session. The i3+ EVO dustbin can hold 2.4L which is enough to last four to five cleaning sessions.

Like the i7, this model is equipped with state-of-the-art floor tracking sensors to create maps and navigate in neat rows. However the i3+ EVO only stores one map, while the i7 is able to store multiple maps. The i7 also has the ability to utilize its map to create no-go zones and virtual barriers, but the i3+ EVO cannot.

The i3+ EVO is more effective of removing debris from the surface in comparison to other robovacs that we have reviewed, but it is not the best in cleaning edges and corners. It's also more abrasive on furniture, despite being fairly quiet. It moved chairs away from walls and caused some collisions with the sides of our test bed, and was stuck to cords and toys during testing.

2. Black & Decker Pro Q5

Whether you're expanding your collection of robot vacuum cleaner quiet vacuums or just beginning your journey, the Q5 Pro is a great option. It packs powerful power, smart navigation and a user-friendly automation into a slick design at an affordable price. It's the best vacuums model for the money you can get right now and is even better than some Roborock models that are more expensive in many ways.

This robot does a fantastic job of cleaning floors with no dust and its avoidance system helps it stay clear of furniture legs and other obstacles. It also performs well on carpets and gets the highest score on our tests of navigation. The only issue is that it's a little noisier than many other models we test and doesn't perform similarly in our user satisfaction or predicted reliability tests.

The Q5 Pro has a very large 770ml dust bin that means you don't have to empty it as frequently as some other 2-in-1 robots. The Q5 Pro's 240 minute running time is also impressive when compared to other 2-in-1 robots we have tested. When the battery is low, it automatically returns to its dock where it recharges and resumes cleaning from where it began. You can manage the Q5 Pro using the app or voice commands with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

This is one of the first robots we've seen incorporate 3D mapping. This along with other advances made it perform extremely well in our tests of vacuuming and mopping test. It allows you to plan cleaning schedules, create no-go zones, and view the status of the battery as well as other things. The app is simple to use, but it doesn't support Apple HomeKit. The feature is scheduled to be added in 2025. As of early November, Apple has updated a footnote on its website to note that this feature is delayed until 2025. Some other robots won't work with HomeKit however, a lot of them are compatible with Siri Shortcuts.

It did a decent job of cleaning carpets during our carpet cleaning review however, it had trouble with thicker pile carpets and carpets.
