The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault works as a product analyst at Good Housekeeping's Home Care and Cleaning Lab.
He tests and evaluates cleaning appliances. His focus is on robot vacuums, and mopping combinations. These multitaskers are an excellent option for those looking to take mopping off their to-do list. They are equipped with impressive mapping and obstacle avoidance capabilities, and they can even wash and refill their mopping pads to give themselves a hands-off clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model you should choose if you want an automatic vacuum cleaner that can also mop. It's smaller than the other models on this list making it easier to maneuver in tight corners and under furniture. It has a 220-degree lidar, which when combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it the best navigation and object avoidance that I've ever seen in a robotic vacuum. It's got a battery of 4600mAh that can last for up to 170 minutes when mopping and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can run longer when it is set to turbo). It can even return to the dock to top up its battery midway through an efficient.
It's extremely quick and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It can vacuum carpeted rooms fast and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room, and hallways with just one motion. Its motor of 8,000pa is able to remove dirt as well as pet hair and droppings with ease. Carpet detection increases power automatically when it comes in contact with carpets and the dual side brushes help draw away debris from corners.
The mopping performance is a little less impressive, though not by much. The rotating mop spins at a high velocity and is pushed down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly cleaning up dirt and staining. I've noticed that the front arms protrude out slightly more than other robots, which is useful for getting into tight corners and on baseboards. Those same front arms can also be used to sweep larger pieces of debris, such as broken toys or books.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've tried. It doesn't make as loud of a sound while vacuuming or mopping and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The only drawback is that the S1 Pro must use a exclusive cleaning solution for mopping, and is sold separately from the vacuum. It is simple to install and works well. However when you purchase this vacuum solely for mopping purposes, you will need to be aware of this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It is a powerful cleaning machine with a wide range of features.
The device is equipped with an extremely powerful and impressive cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors and an RGB camera to map your home and identify furniture and other obstacles. It can then use this information to clean efficiently and effectively. This leads to a thorough, consistent clean which is also relatively quick.
In terms of mopping, Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can reach a wide range of surface areas. This includes corners and baseboards as well as other hard-to-reach spots. They also have a flexible side brush that extends to reach the floor near walls and other fixtures. Additionally the mop pads are able to be dried and washed to prevent build-up and reduce odors.
Another notable feature is the app-based customization options. The Q Revo lets you alter the suction level and select a back-and forth or slightly random pattern. You can also set the number of passes it should make, which will determine how quickly the device can move through your home. You can also decide to disable the side brush to avoid damaging rugs and carpets.
This device is expensive but has many smart features. It is important to remember that the device incurs regular expenses, such as mopping supplies as well as regular maintenance. For example the brushroll needs to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to 12 months. The filter should be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad should be replaced every one to three months.
The robot vacuum that mops has an excellent rating on Amazon and comes with a wide array of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also comes with an power button that doubles as a 'Clean' button' as well as a 'Home' button to send it home after cleaning. It also comes with a multifunctional dock that automatically empty the trash bin, fills up its water tank, and cleans and dry its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
If you're a professional with a lot of work or someone who wants a cleaner home without spending much time doing chores then the Shark Matrix Plus is a good choice. Its incredibly fast performance, sophisticated navigation, and long battery life allow you to maintain a clean house with minimal effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuums uk vacuum and mop, that is, it can do both vacuuming and mopping. It has two modules: a combined dry bin and reservoir of water, and a separate mopping system with microfiber pads that snap into and out of the way. Separate modules for mopping and vacuuming may seem a bit old-fashioned, but they do mean you don't have to worry about changing disposable bags or refueling the tank with water.
Our testers discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming and mopping. Its most impressive feature was its accurate floorplan map, which it uses to determine an outline for cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate effortlessly between rugs, furniture, and other obstacles. The app also offers the option to set "No-Go zones" and virtual barriers that help to shield certain areas of your home from being swept with a mop.
The Matrix Plus also did a amazing job of picking up hair of pets. It was able to capture an enormous amount of hair shed by our cats and even found its way into the nooks and crannies of our stairs while other robots struggled. It was relatively quiet and even had some pleasant jingles that signalled when it was about to start or finishing its work.
The app was too basic and you had to switch the modules each time you switched between vacuuming and mops. The app is not able to store multiple maps. This could be a problem if your home has several floors. The Matrix Plus is a good choice for people who want a smart robot that can perform both vacuuming and mopping.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni robot vacuums uk vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. However, it has certain unique features that make it worth considering. The X1 Omni is most well-known for its huge dock that serves as a charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two water tanks of 4 liters. It also houses two bins: a 2.5-liter dustbin and a 2.5 liter dust bin.
The base also has a number of buttons to control the system. These let you manually start cleaning, recall the robot, or start the dock's auto-emptying process. Press two buttons to toggle the child lock. This is a great feature for parents who are concerned about their children messing around with the vacuum.
Similar to other robotic vacuums, the Omni Omni uses its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system maps your home 10 times faster than laser detection systems and is four times more accurate at recognizing objects.
This can cause the X1 to become stuck if it is entangled in an obstacle, such as the power cable that is draped over a rug. It will not work until you untangle it manually. This was a rare occurrence however, it was a bit frustrating since the X1 does not have an "stuck status" alert on its app.
Another potential downside is another issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between vacuuming and mopping modes during a cleaning session. You'll have to manually swap between the two modes, which isn't an issue apart from the fact that mopping pads aren't cleaned and dried between uses which could lead to mildew or mold.
The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed the sleek modern, contemporary base and mopping pad. It's a big departure from the utilitarian all-black bases of rivals like Roborock or iRobot. It's also an excellent choice for the market that is dominated by boxy models.
