The upgrade of items allows players to raise the item level of armor and weapons that can be equipped. This improves the stats and sometimes adds buffs or rerolls an attach.

Upgrades can be costly, especially for weapons and armor. Depending on the upgrade track each step in item level can cost many Valorstones and crests. The cost can be prohibitive for those who don't have the funds or are unwilling to grind.

Fortunately the game lets players reroll an upgraded item with an additional tool available in the menu for items. This option allows you to replace the upgraded item upgrader mod with an unlevel 1 version that offers different bonuses. This is useful to gain better results on items that are already upgraded. However, it could be a waste of time.

Requirements

The rerolled item will also have different requirements for strength and dexterity. Time

Item upgrades are a way to boost your ship's stats and gear without the need to upgrade them. Upgrades aren't cheap but they can be an effective way to increase your stats and not have to spend as much time fighting. It's important to know the cost and benefits prior to investing your time or money.

Each upgrade boosts the base stat of an item by a certain amount, and also gives a chance to gain a bonus substat increase. The random substat could range from a small increase to a significant boost. The player can transform an item to upgrade it into another item by selecting it and pressing the green button with an arrow that indicates reroll. This will change the layout and allow players to choose up to six items to be used for "recycling". The item will be replaced by an item of level 1. Rerolled items will not retain their level, or the resources used to upgrade them.

The maximum level of upgrade for an item is determined by its quality and tier. Rare and Epic items can be upgraded to levels up to nine, whereas common items can only be upgraded to level six.
