Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.

These multitaskers can be a great option for those who are looking to remove mopping from their to-do lists. Some of them have excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Some even wash and refill mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

If you're looking for a robotic hoovers vacuum that can also mop, this is the model to go for. It's smaller than other models which makes it easier to maneuver into tight spaces or under furniture. It has a 220-degree lidar which, when paired with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the best robot vacuum and mop navigation and object avoidance I've ever seen in a robot vacuum. It has a 4600mAh battery which can last up to 170 minutes if mopping and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can be more efficient when using turbo). It will even return to its dock to replenish its battery during the cleaning.

It's extremely quick and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted rooms quickly and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen and hallways in just one motion. Its 8,000pa motor is able to clean dirt as well as pet hair and even droppings with ease. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects rugs, and the dual side brushes help to clean debris from corners.

The mopping performance, while still impressive, isn't as effective. The mop rotates at a high rate and is pushed down with 2.2lbs of force, easily scraping away dirt and staining. I've also noticed that the front arms stick out a bit more than other robots, which is helpful for getting into tight corners and on baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to scoop up larger objects like broken toys and books.

Another nice feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mops I've ever tried. It doesn't create as loud of a sound while vacuuming or mopping and is quieter than the Narwal Freo X Ultra or RoboRock S7. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it must use a proprietary mopping solution and is sold separately. It is easy to install and performs well. However when you purchase this robot vacuum solely to mop, you will need to pay attention to this.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo is different from other robot vacuums in its class. It is a powerful cleaner with a wide range of features.

The device comes with an impressive and powerful cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors with an RGB camera to map the home and identify furniture and other obstacles. It can then use this information to clean methodically and effectively. This leads to an efficient, consistent clean that is also quite quick.

The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad can reach a variety of surfaces. These include corners, baseboards, and other hard-to-reach areas. They also come with a stretchy side brush that can extend to reach the floor near walls and other fixtures. The mop pads are washable and can be dried to eliminate odors and stop buildup.

Another feature worth mentioning is the customization options that are available through apps. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the suction intensity and choose either a back-and-forth or a random pattern. You can also select the number of passes which determines how fast it can move around your home. You can also disable the side brush in order to prevent damage to carpets and rug.

It's expensive, but has many smart features. It's crucial to note that it incurs recurring expenses in the form of mopping supplies and maintenance. For instance the brushroll has to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to 12 months. The filter is recommended to be cleaned after 150 hrs, and the mop pads must be replaced every one to three month.

This robot vacuum that mops is rated highly on Amazon and offers a wide variety of physical automation features. The vacuum also has a power button which doubles as a 'Clean' button' and a Home' button to send it home after cleaning. It also comes with a multi-functional dock which automatically empty the dustbin, refills its water tank, and wash and dry its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

If you're a busy professional or someone who wants to have a clean home without spending much time doing chores then the Shark Matrix Plus is a good choice. Its powerful performance, intelligent navigation and long battery life make it simple to maintain a clean house with minimal effort.

The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is a 2-in-1 vacuum and mop. It can do both mopping and vacuuming. The robot is divided into two components that include a dry bin as well as a water tank that can be snapped out and robot Vacuum cleaners Best in and a mopping unit that is equipped with a microfiber pad. Separate modules for mopping and vacuuming may seem a bit old-fashioned, but they do mean you don't have to worry about changing bags for disposables or refilling the water tank.

The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming as well as mopping. Its Best robot vacuum cleaner UK feature was its precise map of your floorplan which it uses to draw an outline for cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate effortlessly between rugs, furniture, and other obstacles. The app also offers the option of setting "No-Go zones" as well as virtual barriers that help to protect certain areas of your house from being scrubbed with a mop.

We also found that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in removing hair from pets. It was able to capture a large amount of hair shed by our cats and even was able to get into the nooks and crannies of our stairs while other robots struggled. It was fairly quiet and had some pleasant jingles that let you know when it was about to start or finishing its work.

The app was too easy and you had to change the modules every time you switched between vacuuming and mops. The app doesn't have the capacity to hold multiple maps, which can be a pain if you have a home that has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus is a good choice for people who want a smart robot that can do both mopping and vacuuming.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive in our review. It does however, have certain unique features that make it worth looking into. The X1 Omni is most well-known for its huge dock that serves as a charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two 4-liter water tanks. It also houses two bins: a 2.5-liter dustbin and an 2.5 liter dust bin.

robotic-vacuum-cleaner-cleaning-the-room-while-wom-2024-11-07-13-20-10-utc-min-jpg-original.jpgThe base also comes with a set of control buttons that allow you to manually start a cleaning task or recall the robot or run the dock's auto-emptying process. Press two of the buttons to toggle a child lock, which is a nice option for parents concerned about children playing with the vacuum.

The X1 Omni, like other robotic vacuums, utilizes its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path. It will stay clear of them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

The X1 can be prone to become stuck when it is entangled in a blockage, such as a power cable tangled over a rug. It won't work until you remove it manually. Although this is not a common occurrence but it was a very frustrating experience when it happened and especially because the X1 Omni doesn't come with a "stuck" status alert on its app.

Another potential downside is one of the biggest drawbacks is X1 Omni's inability to automatically change between vacuuming and mopping modes during a cleaning session. You will need to manually swap between the two, which isn't too bad aside from the fact that the mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between uses and can cause mildew or mold.

On the positive side it's worth noting that the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who conceptualized its modern, sleek base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a significant difference from the utilitarian black bases of competitors like Roborock or iRobot. It's also an excellent choice for a market dominated by clunky boxy units.
