Path of Exile Item Upgrades

The performance of many Path of Exile items can be enhanced by upgrading them. They can be a fantastic source of extra damage, more AD or even more attaches.

Often times however, upgraded Common and Magic gear is often surpassed by Rare-grade gear because of their requirements.

Armor

Armor upgrades are a type of upgrade that can be used on armor and weapon items. They increase the effectiveness of the item level upgrade that they're attached to. Armor upgrades can be found in the world of the game and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. Alternately, they can be rescued from items with upgrade components inside them, using a specialist or more powerful salvage kit.

The level of an armor's or weapon's upgrade determines the amount of damage it can take on. Upgrading a piece of armor to maximum upgrade level will boost the damage it absorbs. It's important to remember that this will increase the weight of the armor, which means it must be more heavy.

There are several kinds of armor upgrades that are that are available in the game and each one has distinct effects. Certain upgrades give armor an extra number of health points while others make it more powerful and lighter. The name of the armor upgrade will indicate the kind of upgrade an item upgrader Kit (ucgp.jujuy.edu.ar) can be given, as illustrated below.

Some of the upgrades also require magic or a combination of technology and magic, which is identified by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table below. Certain upgrades also require fees in order to be used. These are identified as "Charges" entries in the table. These charges are continuously updated or never expire, depending on the upgrade.

You can find it by exploring and looting small loot chests. Titanium is more expensive, however it is obtainable from smelters located in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Some upgrades, like the Reforge or the Hot Potato Books can only be used on high-level armor pieces. These upgrades can give significant improvements in performance and are worth the investment, particularly for one-handed weapons.

The player must be aware that upgrading a piece to its maximum upgrade level can increase its defense value. However, it will also reduce its agility and speed. It is not recommended to upgrade armor above +9. The boost in defense usually isn't worth the weight and power costs of the upgrades.

Weapon upgrades allow players the ability to improve certain aspects of their weapon. Upgrades can boost the accuracy of a rifle, or the damage that shotgun shells cause. Certain weapons also come with upgrades that enhance their inherent qualities. Frictionless materials (improves stability, minimizes weapon overheating) and Kinetic coils (increases the projectile's velocity for greater damage) are two examples.

Most upgrades for weapons require one of three Power Dices, a different amount of Minerals and Erons, and a whetblade to apply. These are obtained through either finishing side quests, killing a certain number of bosses or monsters, or from the Weapon Upgrade NPC located in Central Flarine.

Upgrades to a weapon, equipment Set piece, or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade cost of a certain number of Bars. The more bars you need to complete an upgrade, the higher the level. If you have multiple upgrade materials the cost of upgrading will be lower.

In Chapter 2: Season 5 the way you upgrade your weapon and sets has changed a bit. In the past you could search for an Upgrade Bench and pay a set number of Bars to upgrade your equipment or weapon to an increased level of rarity. You could do this until the weapon or equipment reached its maximum upgrade level at which point the upgrades would reset.

It's still possible, but it relies heavily on RNG. You should consider buying equipment that has minimal upgrade levels and high base scores and stat distributions. These gears have a better chance of granting you the most prestigious tier of benefits and blessings.

The majority of players will prioritize upgrades to the weapons they use most frequently to help them level up quicker. Additionally players, they should also consider upgrading the weapons that are most popular with their squadmates to make them more powerful as well. For instance, Shepard should consider upgrading the M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R, which will enhance its effectiveness when accompanied by experts in biotics like Grunt and Tali.

Jewels

Jewels are placed in the armor's sockets and weapons, increasing the stats of a weapon and providing additional effects. They can be created through a process called jewelry crafting, in which you combine a gem with a number of specific reagents at a jewelry table. The higher the grade of the jewel is, the greater its secondary effect. These reagents can be obtained from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses all over the world, or through finding Legendary Gear. You can also purchase them from The Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Prism.

The Jeweler can boost the quality of the gem in stages that range from Crude up to Royal. The boosts to stats will differ depending on the tier the jewel is at when it's slotted into weapons, jewelry, or equipment.

All kinds of jewels are crafted at the Jeweler and Jeweler's Workshop, with the exception of the rare and legendary gems that require you to be at a high enough level to obtain them. Jewels can be replaced by another one without damaging the original. You can only replace the jewel once in an item level upgrade of equipment.

It is normal to use more jewels for aesthetic reasons. In addition to enhancing performance, the diamonds create a surface that is harder than metal, which means that repeated friction from pivots won't cause damage as easily.

A Glyphmaster can provide glyphs to enhance the look of your shields and weapons. They offer a small benefit and can be swapped out at any time but aren't guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs, like jewelry, can be upgraded at the Jeweler to exchange Scattered Crystals and gold. Glyphs can also be removed, which returns them to the inventory. Other upgrade components, such as traits or aegis cannot be exchanged and can only be retrieved with an Upgrade extractor or salvaging using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an Ascended Salvage.

Trinkets

Trinkets are items of equipment that provide a wide range of small but useful benefits to your hero. They can be acquired starting in the beginning areas as loot, personal story rewards, from vendors, and by performing road interactions. They can be purchased from the Trading Post, or crafted by jewelers.

The first trinkets that a player can unlock is the cloak, which gives a small, but valuable boost in speed of movement and evasion. The player can then acquire necklaces, rings, and amulets, in a similar way as they did with weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment has an upgrade slot that can be either universal or jewel. Universal upgrades provide smaller bonuses and can be put into any kind of equipment however, jewelry cannot be replaced or upgraded, and only works with certain kinds of trinkets.

These trinkets also provide additional buffs and skills that are active whenever the hero is not fighting. This allows a hero to be more efficient while inactive. It also helps compensate for the lack of a excellent slots in the team or talent tree which are usually filled by the hero's optimal stats.

A good rule of thumb for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best-in-Slot) items that you will not replace soon, followed by items with desirable stats, but less important than the iLevel of the item to be upgraded. This is especially true if an item upgrader has multiple stats that you'd like to upgrade, as it's usually more beneficial to upgrade one important stat rather than two sub-optimal ones.

Jungle players often upgrade their yellow trinkets to a red one prior to the beginning of the game. Mid and top players, on the other hand they will select a pink or green ward, depending on the matchup. These choices will have an impact on a hero's ability to control the map.

In addition to the items listed above, players can also find other trinkets that form of trophies and rewards throughout the game. They can be earned through completing certain milestones in the story, like the main quest of a chapter or destroying a boss. These can be viewed by selecting the relevant achievement from the reward tab of the hero menu.
