World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. Upgrades also boost bonuses like Crit chance and damage from PvE.

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost rises with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be incorporated into weapons, armor and trinkets in order to provide them with a boost in stats or to add an additional effect. They can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors, trading with other players or looting. Some upgrades also have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be used on devices that have slots. The item must be upgraded to blue level before a component can be used. Like other mods, upgrade components can only be used once; they cannot be applied multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are a kind of upgrade component that can be used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascending equipment, as in some items that aren't ascended. Infusions and Enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment from the ascended state or completing a mission in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade can be prefixed or a suffix, modifying the name of the equipment with the upgrade (for examplefor example "Canthan Armor Insignia" becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades can increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions of the item using less Upgrade crystals than they require to reach the same level using standard methods.

A boost upgrade can change the attack or defence characteristics of a weapon, or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be crafted at the Portative Forging Station. They can be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear or buying them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals per.

Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-tier version of the item will be revealed in the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to continue improving their equipment even if they're uncertain of the extent to which it will increase after a future reset.

The process of upgrading an item can be costly and it is likely that the item will be obsolete, or even break, if the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed when the upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the risk of failure. Some upgrades also give an additional bonus when reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade parts which can be put in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs can boost the performance of nodes within a radius, and include any existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded a variety of ways, and we suggest getting them to level 15 whenever you can.

You'll often see in the endgame that placing Glyphs is the most effective method to upgrade item your gear. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded up to level 15 and offer a significant boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and re-placed without restrictions. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and re-placed by using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

Each Glyph has a particular range of values that it can improve a stat by. The value is displayed when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with a Glyph with the same rank or a higher rank, which will increase the value of the Glyph.

You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of an Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain gathering tools that are unlimited-use, and through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt has the possibility of dropping one of the numerous Glyphs as well as also a few rare Glyphs that can be found as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.

Once you have gotten the desired Glyphs you'll need them to be placed on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus which will boost a specific set of stat nodes in a radius surrounding the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph, this will either be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs boost all nodes connected to them, therefore it is Best item upgrader to put Glyphs in key spots on the Graph. This will increase the impact. Druids, for example should position their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might also want to consider placing them near their primary damage nodes.

Leveling

The upgrade system for items allows players to boost the effectiveness of certain items by inserting upgraded components. This is referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item is assigned an amount that determines the final stats. Upgraded items may be leveled up to a maximum of 385. Each level of an item upgrader mod requires different components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require a specific ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab of a crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed earns some Technology Points. These points can be used to the upgrading of an item. Once enough points are earned you will be able to claim the upgrade and also receive the bonuses.

When the player upgrades an item it is replaced with a different item of the same type. The same armor can be transformed into an weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will come with a bonus of its own. This could be a disadvantage in that the item could be more expensive even if you don't need it.

If the player has enough tokens, they can reroll item upgrades. This will cause the item to be exchanged for a new one, which will come with an initial level and a totally different set of extra bonuses. This is a good option for certain items, however it's not something that should be repeated often, as it can use up a lot of resources.

Some upgrades can increase their value, allowing players to customize their equipment. An excellent example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an increase in power when a player repeatedly enters and exits water (or is able to swim like a dolphin). It is possible to upgrade it several times, each time raising the maximum roll by a factor of 10. This item is extremely valuable in PvP as an item that is properly rolled it can be worth between 20 and 50x its value without being upgraded.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to increase the level of their available equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets over ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate items and currency to an NPC that upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces also boost the defense of the base set and weapon upgrades items boost their base damage and also increase their strength and dexterity.

All items can be upgraded up to five times except for hero equipment, which is able to be upgraded eight times. Every each time you upgrade an item upgrade it is given the chance to fail. The failure rate increases the farther you go over the maximum number of upgrades. Failures will cause the item to go to its initial state, requiring the player to spend more materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum amount of upgrades.

If an item is not able to upgrade, the amount of accumulated experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it gained like the chance to crit attack damage, additional effects (such as increased heal over time, or the speed of reloading). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.

When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from lowest to the highest. This means that if a weapon gains an increase in crit chance, the increase is applied prior to any increase in attack damage. Slots is a brand-new attribute that has been added to the definitions of items. The value is recalculated every time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating and number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equal to its base value. For example an item of common use could have five upgrades at a cost of. 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero grade items are less expensive per upgrade.

For example, they may need less sowels, however they may require more minerals and orons. Regardless, the player will need to visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade cost mentioned above, each equipment upgrade requires the use of different upgrade ingredients.
