Antonio Zanussi founded the Zanussi Company in Pordenone in Italy in 1916. It was initially an individual shop, but soon grew into a major industrial company that produced a wide range of household appliances. In 1950 it was one of the top producers in Italy. The company continued to grow in the 1960s with the purchase of the Becchi, Castor, Zoppas and Triplex brands, as well as the establishment of a research and design center.
