The best robot hoover Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.
He reviews and tests cleaning equipment, focusing on robot vacuums and mopping combos. Multitaskers can be an excellent choice for those looking to eliminate mopping from their list of things to do. Some have great navigation and obstacle avoidance. Some wash and refill mopping pads for a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
This is the model you need to pick if you are looking for a robot vacuum cleaner that also mop. It is smaller than other models and makes it easier to maneuver into tight corners or under furniture. It features a 220-degree Lidar that, combined with the 3D Matrix Camera System, gives it some of my favorite navigation and object avoidance features I've seen in robot vacuums. It comes with a massive 4600mAh battery that lasts for up to 170-minutes, if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it is able to run longer in turbo). It will even return to the dock to top up its battery midway through an efficient.
It's efficient and does an outstanding job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums the carpeted rooms incredibly quickly and the hardwood floors in the hallways, and living room in a single pass. Its 8,000pa suction motor is quick at picking up dirt, droppings, and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects carpets and the double side brush assists in removing debris from corners.
The mopping performance, while still impressive, is not as effective. The mop's rotating motor spins at a high velocity and it pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly scrubbing up dirt and staining. I've noticed that the front arms stick out slightly more than other robots, which is helpful for getting into tight corners and along baseboards. The front arms can also be used to pick up larger objects such as books and toys that have been damaged.
Another nice feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mops I've tried. It is quieter and doesn't produce as much noise when vacuuming or mopping. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it needs to use a proprietary mopping solution and is sold separately. It is easy to set up, and it works well. However, if you are buying this robot vacuum solely to mop it is important to be aware of this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It is a powerful machine for cleaning with a range of features.
The device is equipped with a powerful cleaning robot mop and vacuum system that integrates LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This allows it to map out the house, find furniture and other obstacles. This information can be used to clean efficiently and effectively. This results in a thorough, consistent clean that is also quite quick.
In terms of mopping, the Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads can reach many different surfaces. This includes corners, baseboards, and other difficult-to-access spots. They also have a stretchy side brush that can be extended to the floor in close proximity to walls and other fixtures. The mop pads can also be washable and can be dried to reduce odors and prevent buildup.
App-based customization is a different interesting feature. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the amount of suction, and choose between a back-andforth, or a more random pattern. You can also adjust the number of passes it will make, which will affect the speed at which the device can move around your home. You can also decide to disable the side brush to prevent damaging rugs and carpets.
This device has a fairly expensive price tag, but it is packed with a wide array of smart features. It is important to remember, however, that the device is subject to recurring expenses in the form mopping equipment and regular maintenance. For instance the brushroll needs to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to 12 months. The filter is to be cleaned every 150 hours, and mop pads should be changed every one to three month.
This robot vacuum that mops is rated highly on Amazon and comes with a wide range of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also has an power button that doubles as a 'Clean' button' and a Home' button to send it home after cleaning. It also has a multifunctional dock that automatically empty the dustbin and refills its water tank for mopping and washes and dry its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
The Shark Matrix Plus will be the ideal choice for busy professionals or anyone who needs to keep their home clean without spending too much time doing chores. Its incredibly fast performance, sophisticated navigation, and long battery life allow you to maintain a clean home with little effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop, which means it can handle both vacuuming and mopping. The robot comes with two modules: a dry bin and reservoir of water, and a separate mopping system with a microfiber pad that snaps in and out of place. Separate modules for mopping and vacuuming may appear a bit dated but they're a good thing because that you don't need to worry about changing disposable bags or refueling the tank with water.
The Matrix Plus performed well at both vacuuming as well as mopping. Its most impressive feature was its precise map of your floorplan that it uses to create an outline for cleaning. It was easy for the Matrix Plus to navigate around furniture rug, furniture and other obstacles. The app also offers the option to set 'No-Go zones' and virtual barriers, which help to protect certain areas of your home from being scrubbed with mop.
We also discovered that the Matrix Plus did surprisingly well in removing hair from pets. It was able to collect the majority of hair that our cats shed, and even got into the nooks and crannys of our stairs which other robots struggled. The noise levels of the robot were low, and there were some pleasant jingles to let you know that it was beginning and working towards its goal.
The biggest flaws were its simplistic app and the requirement to swap between the modules to switch between vacuuming and mopping. The app cannot save multiple maps. This can be an issue if your house has several floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a ideal choice for people who want a smart device that can vacuum and mop.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our review, but it has some unique features that make it worth taking into consideration. The X1 Omni's biggest draw is its huge dock which doubles as a charging base and housing for two water tanks, a sink for cleaning and an automatic 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically emptys.
The base has a few control buttons that allow you to manually begin a cleaning task, recall the robot or run the dock's automatic emptying procedure. Press two of the buttons to turn off a child lock, which is a nice touch for parents worried about their children playing with the vacuum.
Similar to other robotic vacuums, the Omni Omni uses its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path and avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni can occasionally become so entangled with an obstruction, such as a power cord draped across a rug that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you remove it manually. This was a rare incident however it was frustrating since the X1 does not have an "stuck status" alert in its application.
Another issue that could be a problem is another issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically change between vacuuming and mopping modes during a cleaning session. You will need to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad apart from the fact that the mopping pads aren't cleaned and dried between uses which could lead to mildew or mold.
On the positive side it's worth noting that the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its modern, sleek base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a major change from the utilitarian all-black bases used by competitors like Roborock and iRobot and is a refreshing appearance in a market that is dominated by bulky boxes and clunky models.
