Fortunately, there are some simple steps that you can follow to replace your Volvo key fob battery on your own. First, locate a clear working surface to complete the procedure. Place all the tools that you'll need. Find the battery hatch and make sure it is set to "open." Use a flathead screwdriver, coin or any other similar tool to turn the hatch to open. Then, carefully remove the battery by lifting the side closest to the hook of the key-ring. Make sure you wear rubber gloves to avoid damaging the clips or electronic contact surfaces.
After the battery is removed, insert the new one in its socket. Make sure that the positive side is facing upwards and that it is seated in all of the clips. Slide the cover downwards towards the key-ring area until it becomes loose and is able to slide off. Uncover the cover and reveal the hidden key blade. This is a way to unlock your vehicle from the driver's side door when the battery of your key fob is dead or lost.
How to Start Your Vehicle
Modern vehicles come with keyfobs which do more than simply unlock and lock the doors. They can also be used for other handy functions like summoning and auto-parking the vehicle. Once the fob is opened find the CR2032 battery and take it off. Install a new battery in its spot and connect the fob.
