Then, carefully remove the battery by lifting the side closest to the hook of the key-ring. Make sure you wear rubber gloves to avoid damaging the clips or electronic contact surfaces.

After the battery is removed, insert the new one in its socket. Make sure that the positive side is facing upwards and that it is seated in all of the clips. Slide the cover downwards towards the key-ring area until it becomes loose and is able to slide off. Uncover the cover and reveal the hidden key blade. This is a way to unlock your vehicle from the driver's side door when the battery of your key fob is dead or lost.
