Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combos
Robot vacuums and mop are becoming more capable. They have passed our tests for cleaning, and can handle a variety of flooring. Choose models that allow you to choose between multiple modes, self-empty and clean stairs.
Many of the top models work with your smartphone. Look for an app that allows you to save schedules, maps and choose cleaning modes.
1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro
Eufy's gunmetal-and-gloss black Omni S1 Pro is one of the most impressive robot vacuum and mop combos on the market. It makes use of lidar to navigate and create maps of rooms and floors (even multiple levels), and works with the free Eufy Clean application that lets you set schedules and alter the S1's behaviour.
The S1 was capable of mapping my downstairs quickly, which includes flooring in the dining area, kitchen, and bathrooms, as well as carpet in the middle and a large area. It was capable of driving up to walls and even over thresholds that are raised without issue. However, it had some difficulty navigating down the stairs in one go. The S1 also did a great job of cleaning hard floors, with its mop driving smoothly on its flat side against the floor, and then lifting its own weight when it reaches carpet or rugs.
Prior to each mopping session the docking station of the S1 automatically emptys its trash bin and refills its water tank with filtered, clean water ozonated. The dock also includes a cleaning solution in the water to ensure deep cleaning. The S1 water tank can hold enough for 12 mopping sessions, however it will differ based on how often you use the mop.
The S1 requires periodic maintenance, just like all 2-in-1 robots. In order to do this, you'll have to rinse out the water tank that is dirty regularly to keep it from becoming clogged. Also, you'll need to clean the swivel wheel and sensors frequently to avoid them from getting blocked by dirt or dust. Overall the S1 requires less maintenance than other combos.
