Robots That Vacuum and Mop
robots that vacuum and mop (pop over here) provide the convenience of cleaning both dry debris (dust dirt) and wet messes (spills or staining) in one session without the need to change devices. They can also save storage space compared to having two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot will have impressive navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models with docks that let them automatically empty their bins, replenish their water tanks, and wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's one of the simplest robots to install that we've tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and an easy-to-follow guide will have you running with a clean, complete dust bag, floor solution for hard floors and water tank in no time.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops spin at fast speeds and apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, which makes short work of pet hair, dirt and dried sticky spills. The vacuum has four power modes, a range of attachments and brushes, and a user-friendly app that lets you choose the type of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.
For example, you can decide to let the robot clean up the living and kitchen but be careful with the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It is able to detect small obstacles that other models can't. Its only issue is that it tends to hit objects and walls at full speed. However, a quick look at the history of cleaning in the app will tell you exactly what the robot done, where it is going, and which obstacles he has run into or avoided.
A handy LCD screen on the docking station shows the maintenance tasks that must be completed, such as emptying the debris tray and cleaning the dirty water tank. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank using a 600ml bottle of Eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop are able to run for a long time, with the mop capable of running for an 184-minute runtime in Quiet mode, while the vacuum is able to do 136 minutes in standard mode before needing to recharge or return to the base to refill. You can also view the entire cleaning information in the app, which is well laid out and easily understood however we would have liked to be able distinguish between a vacuum only or mop and vacuum clean when looking at a clean area in the cleaning history.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's flagship robot mop and vacuum, is the newest version. In contrast to the model of last year, this one features two agitators in its mopping pad which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power which allows it to pull up finer hairs and other debris other robotic cleaners might miss.
This Roborock model, just like the other two I tried it has infrared and a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it get around obstacles like walls, furniture and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and incorporates dual cameras that can detect objects, and determine if they are walls or other surfaces. It can then change its path automatically and clean the objects without missing a step.
It's the most expensive robot vacuum best I've ever tested and it comes with the most features. Its sleek angular design is eye catching, and it only has three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which restarts the cleaning mop button, which doubles up as a child-lock and a home button to take the robot vacuums with mop to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin auto-refills.
The only issue I have found with this model is that the VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth if required, but it's not easy to remove the mount for manual washing. I've found any plush carpet that the robot touches will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on mounts, which could cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number clever features, including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can configure and manage these through the Roborock app which is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings, track the battery life and maintain your components. You'll need to jump through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering how efficient it is otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuums that mop vacuum and mop is a market leader with cutting-edge features, high suction power, and advanced mopping capabilities. Its clever design permits customized and efficient cleaning while also saving time.
The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first one to provide 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful alternatives available. This powerful vacuum can clean up pet hair as well as crumbs and other dry mess. It also comes with a top-quality mop that leaves floors sparkling clean, even with a wet pad. In addition the X40 is quiet in it's operation, producing only occasional bursts of noise when switching between modes or completing self-maintenance tasks.
The X40 also has a side brush that is able to be extended and lifted. This allows it to reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean curved furniture like table and chair legs. The robot can also reach under furniture with low profile, making it an excellent option for smaller apartments or condos. The side brush tilts automatically down when it spots wet spots. This is a wonderful feature that allows the X40 to prevent damage to floors from excessive back-and forth movements.
In contrast to other robots that are restricted to a single task, the X40 can vacuum and mop at the same time. It can also be programmed to avoid areas with carpets and mop only hard floors, or reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame app or with Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for a seamless voice-controlled operation.
The app is intuitive and simple to use and the X40's clever features are a breeze to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times. It can also be adjusted to adjust suction power, change modes, look at floor plans and maps and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also keep track of its progress, and alert you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy to keep clean and has numerous features that make it an excellent option for busy families. The docking station can automatically cleans the dustbin and mop pads before refilling them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It can also detect if the mop pad is at its maximum capacity and alert you to the situation before it overflows.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end best robot cleaner that is among the most expensive available and comes with a lot of additional features that make it stand out. The mops are equipped with a new feature called Smart DuoScrub that uses two high-speed mops to scrub floors more thoroughly than the traditional method, and it has the highest suction power of 7,000Pa. This is higher than Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also vacuum up pet hair, dirt particles and remove spills and soiled spots.
The mop is also dried and cleaned inside the base station after every use. This is a fantastic feature because it prevents the build-up of mould and unpleasant odours in the storage area, and it also makes mop systems more efficient. This is a feature we haven't seen on other robot mop and vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home clean longer.
There are many choices, including the possibility to schedule cleanings and change preferences. These settings can be adjusted via the app or buttons that can be found on the device itself. The app is simple to use and has a lot of options for customizing the cleaning routine, and there are a lot of features that other robots don't include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power whenever it detects dust particles instead of relying on a manual setting.
The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a metallic-white-white finish that looks elegant and sophisticated. It's heavier than some of the other two-in-one robots in this list - at around 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy, and it is sturdy and well-built. The mopping is also well-designed and the double-rotating mop is great for hard floors and in corners. They can even extend to 2mm of baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature which is a nice touch.
