The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored excellently in our tests of floors with no carpet They are also adept in removing dog hair. However, they have several flaws that prevent them from being our top pick. One of them is that the Q5's navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacle avoidance, so it's prone to get caught up in shoes and socks, and is unable to navigate rooms with a lot of people well in our tests. It doesn't also come with a camera to look around corners.

Still, it's very good, especially if you want to save money on a Roomba from iRobot, and you have a mostly bare-floor home or office. It's also very quiet and can work while you're at work or school. The only thing it's missing that you can't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on floors that aren't clean. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 does have an auto vacuum and mop-emptying dock, however. And, if you need to, you can swap the mopping pad for dry ones in a matter of seconds.

2. IRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact, sleek vacuum cleaner that also has the ability to mop floors. Its agile navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it quick to clean and effective at dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also comes with self-emptying dustbins with powerful suction and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best automatic vacuum robot hoover for carpets, but it lags behind some competitors in deep cleaning.

This high-performing mop and vacuum combo utilizes advanced sensors to dodge obstacles and pet waste, and it will learn the layout of your home over time to provide more efficient cleaning. The app allows you to modify zones and alter the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average when compared to similar models.

You can instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and extend them when in a carpeted area to prevent cross-contamination. Its flex arm is ideal for getting under low-lying furniture and along baseboards. Its obstacle detection was superb and it stayed clear of fake dog turds, socks, shoes, and bundles of cables.

It's a little more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but it has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after it vacuums, a feature that we've not seen on other robot vacuum/mop combos.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

With a sleek circular design that appears more like a normal Roomba than the competition's boxy units, this mop and robot vacuum is among the most appealing looking in our evaluations. The newest model from iRobot is among the most intelligent and has advanced features like enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can wash its own mop pads).

It's also the sole robot vacuum/mop that scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in our tests. This is thanks to the combination of high-tech sensors, including a structured lighting system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot we tested that can fully autonomously refill and empty its base station, and it has an its own self-cleaning mop pads.

As with other iRobot models as well, the X40 is user-friendly, offering a simple mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit as well as Google Assistant. The only downside is that the X40 still a noisy unit. This could be a concern in the mornings before work or in the evening when you're trying to fall asleep.

It's also quite expensive, although it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are equally capable and better-looking. If you're willing to put up with a bit more noise and some extra cost this is a powerful two-in-one that will please almost everyone.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum best vacuum and mop, with a variety of sophisticated features that let you get rid of your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaner that is similar to Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically empty the vacuum's bin and refills the water tank, and washes and drys mop pads.

The smart robot makes use of a combination of LIDAR and structured light to create floor plans and spot obstacles, making it more efficient than its top competitors. It also has a camera mounted on the front for real-time hazard detection however, it wasn't foolproof in our testing and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.

You can use it to make cleaning schedules, plan an area for cleaning or to sort out your rooms with the most dirt for better performance. The app comes with a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums, which means it can reach corners and underneath furniture more easily. It also has strong suction of 8,000 Pascal suction and combs that are intelligent for hair of pets. You can also organize a spot-cleaner that thoroughly cleans the area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek and more affordable alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive style, much like Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed like cute little eyes. It's good at vacuuming, but it is more susceptible to get caught on low thresholds and is a bit noisier than the other top robotic vacuums we've examined. It also has a less intuitive app and a small base station that doesn't double as an emptying bin.
