Air-filled tyres and good suspension will handle rough terrain well. It's also suitable for jogging, although you must wait until your baby is six or nine months old to do this.

Ickle Bubba XL Air

This light pushchair made by Ickle Bubba is packed with lots of features that parents will appreciate. This travel system includes a carrycot that is flat for newborns and a dual-position rear and forward facing pushchair seat.

The XL Air is a very impressive buggy. It's easy to understand why it's earned the highest praise from its customers. It is incredibly lightweight - the wheels and chassis weigh only 6.5kg. It's also very simple to put together. In fact I was able put it up and running in less than five minutes, which is pretty amazing considering that it also included the tying of the fabric to the carrycot!

The seat is spacious and comfortable for Annie who is just 12 months old. The recline lever was simple to use. There's plenty of space in the basket too and I like the fact that it has a zip-up pocket in the handle bar so you can keep your phone and keys secure!

The only slight downside is the handlebar is low, which can be an issue for parents who are taller. However, it's coated in a lovely leather-like material that is soft and comfortable and cleans down easily, so it's still easy to push with bags and children on your hands!

Hauck Pushchair Runner

The Runner is a great choice for parents who like to explore and are always on the move. The large pneumatic wheels can be utilized on field and forest trails. The front 3 wheel twin stroller can be locked and can be swiveled for added flexibility. It also comes with a cushioned 5-point safety harness as well as a front bar to ensure your child is safe on all trips, while the parking brake effectively stops the stroller from moving even when you rest. The comfortable seat is simple to adjust down to a lying position, and the canopy opens up to allow for maximum air circulation during hot days. Red Kite's Pace is a great product from the affordable British brand. They are well-known for their simple, well-designed products that are essentials for parents. It's the latest and most expensive version of their bargain light stroller range and like the Ickle Bubba Aurora and Yoyo, is car seat adaptable so you can use it right from birth (the carrycot folds away).

The new Pace has some amazing design touches such as the rose gold tint of the hood, chassis and stroller trims, which make it stand out from its rivals. The grey, tan and cream fabrics in the stroller and the car seat are fashionable and there's an option to add an coordinating leather cover handle and bumper bar as well.

The stroller seat is used from birth until a maximum weight of 22kg. It converts easily into a reversible 2-in-1 position, which is either parent-facing or facing the world. The stroller seat has several lie-back positions, plus soft padded legs rests, and an extended sun canopy with hidden zip sections, a viewing see-through flap, and a retractable visor.

When folded, the Pace measures 56 inches x 43cm and 32 inches, which is perfect for hand luggage on Easyjet and Ryanair. It's also easy to fold, thanks to two buttons on the handlebar's opposite side which just click in and pop up.

It took around 20 minutes to put together the bassinet, and the same amount of time to transform it into the seat.
