1. Smeg BCC02

This sleek, compact, and striking machine, created by Milan-based company Deep Design combines the brand's retro aesthetic with cutting-edge technology. It is able to handle every step of the coffee-making process - from grinding beans and then tamping them into a puck, to texturing milk and dispensing the right amount - so you can create barista-quality hot beverages by pressing a button.

The machine is also available in black, red and taupe. It can easily integrate into any kitchen design. The machine does not come without flaws however. Most reviewers found that it was quite expensive for a cup to bean cup coffee machine maker (and it doesn't come with the milk pitcher).

There were also numerous positive reviews about the quality of the coffee and the ease of using this machine. The digital display gives information and step-bystep instructions throughout the entire process of brewing that will help you make your drink perfect each time. It will even alert you to adjust the size of the grind if it's not enough. It's like having your very own personal barista at home (minus Elon Musk's rocket building abilities and Harry Potter's invisible cape).

If you prefer milky drinks this model comes with an adjustable steam wand in both directions to accommodate the majority of drinking vessels that aren't equipped with the Viking's drinking horn. We were also awed by the speed and efficiency at which the frothing was done. It produces an amazing, full-flavoured espresso with a great crema.

The BCC02 is a fantastic all-rounder. It's quiet and efficient, and offers great value for money at the current price of PS499. Its only real drawback is the fact that it does not offer the same level of customization like some of the other bean-to-cups we've evaluated. It comes with a 15 bar pump instead of the common 19 bar which isn't as effective to make high-quality espressos. Other than that it's a fantastic machine to make coffee for those who like their coffee strong and black. Click here to see Lavazza's fantastic deal.

2. Melitta Barista TS Smart

Its most unique feature may be the fact that it is able to be controlled by your smartphone using the Melitta Connect App. This allows you to change settings and dispense different coffee bean to cup machines recipes that are stored within the machine itself.

There's also a convenient chute for coffee that has been ground if you'd like to make your own (for example when that nagging dinner guest brings their own).

Users have also said they are impressed with the speed of the machine. It is more efficient than other machine they've used. Another advantage is that it will alert you when one of its hoppers is almost empty, ensuring that you aren't caught running out of your favourite beverage.

The only thing that could be a disadvantage for certain individuals is the price. The machine isn't cheap, costing nearly PS999. But, it's cheaper than similar Jura machines with the same number of features.

The Barista TS Smart is backed by a an extensive warranty that provides two years of protection. This is a longer warranty than the typical one-year warranty. It is a sign of confidence on behalf of the manufacturer. The machine comes with a cleaning tablet as well as a descaler. This makes it simple to maintain the machine.
