Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that clean and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning both dry debris and wet messes in one session without the need to switch devices. They can also save space compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.
A good robot vacuum combination bot will offer excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bin and refill their water tank, and wash their mopping pads using the dock that is specifically designed for them.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It's one of the simplest robots to install that we've tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you up and running with a clean and complete dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in no time at all.
The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that mops up a storm and is a great vacuum cleaner too. The mops spin at fast speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, allowing for quick removal of dirt, pet hair and dried sticky spills. The best automatic vacuum cleaner cleaner has four power settings, as well as a selection of brushes and attachments as well as an intuitive app that lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.
You can, for example request the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly, but leave the bedroom to itself. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and smart navigation technology are excellent too and the robot is able to detect tiny obstacles that other models struggle with. Its only drawback is that it can smash into walls and other objects at full speed - but a quick glance at the cleaning history within the app will show you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading and what obstacles it's avoided.
The docking station has an LCD display that indicates when maintenance is needed like emptying the debris and rinsing the dirty water tank. It also mixes detergent into the water tank in a controlled manner by using a 600ml eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro automatic vacuum and mop robot and mop have plenty of run-time as well, with the mop being able to operate for up to 184 minutes in quiet mode, and the vacuum able to do 136 minutes in normal mode before having to recharge or return to the base to refill. And you can see the complete cleaning details within the app, which is intuitively laid out and easily understood although we would like to be able to differentiate between a mop only vacuum and mop clean, when examining a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's most popular robot vacuum and mop. It's not like the model from last year this one has a double agitator in its mopping pad, which greatly improves carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has improved suction power, allowing it to pick up small hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners might overlook.
As with the other two Roborock models I've tried the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that can help it avoid walls, furniture and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things a step further by incorporating a dual camera that can recognize objects and determine whether they're a wall or another type of surface. It then can automatically alter its path and clean around them without missing a beat.
It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, but it's also the most feature-packed. Its sleek and angular design is striking and comes with three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which restarts the cleaning process, a mop button that doubles as a child lock and a home button to bring the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be opened to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin automatically refills.
The only negative I discovered with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth when required, but it's not easy to take the mount off for washing manually. I've noticed that any plush carpet that the robot passes will come into contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, which can cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a number intelligent features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app allows you to manage and configure these features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings, track battery life and component maintenance. You'll need to go through a few steps to enable voice control on this model. This is a shame considering how well-performing it is otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop that has outstanding suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and ingenuity features. Its clever design permits customised and efficient cleaning while also saving time.
The X40 is the first robot vacuum cleaner to deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the best robot vacuum and mop options available. This powerful vacuum removes dry debris, including pet hair and dust. It comes with a mop that is excellent quality that can clean hard floors without using a pad. The X40 is also very quiet when in operation and only occasionally bursting during mode changes or self-maintenance.
Another standout feature is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush, which lets it get into difficult-to-access corners as well as clean furniture such as table and chair legs. It also allows the robot vacuums that mop to reach under furniture with a low profile which makes it a great option for smaller apartments and condominiums with small spaces. The side brush also automatically swivels downwards when it detects wet spots. This is a nice feature that helps the X40 keep floors safe from damage caused by repeated back-andforth movements.
In contrast to other robots that are limited to one task, the X40 can vacuum and mop at the same time. It can be programmed to only mop the hard floors and skip carpeted areas, or vice versa. It can be controlled by the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is user-friendly and simple to use, and the X40's smart features are a breeze to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, look at mapping and floor plans, and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's finished.
The X40 is easy to clean and has numerous features that make it an ideal option for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the dustbin into a large 3.2 L bin, washes mop pads and refills them with fresh water and cleaning solution. It will also tell you whether the mop pad has reached its maximum capacity and alert you to the situation prior to it bursting.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available on the market. However, it has a number of characteristics that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature on its mop, utilizes two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is higher than Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also clean pet hair, small dirt particles and remove spills and dirt-stained spots.
Its mops are also dried and cleaned inside the base station after every use. This is beneficial because it stops mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in the storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is an option we haven't seen before on other robot mop and vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home cleaner longer.
There are a lot of options, including the ability to schedule cleanings and adjust preferences. These can be set via the app or there are buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and has a lot of options for customising the cleaning routine. Additionally, there are numerous features that other robots don't have - such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power when it detects dust particles, instead of using a manual setting.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen on market, sporting metallic and white design that looks elegant and classy. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots listed on this list however it's not excessively heavy. It feels solid and well-built. Mopping is also well-designed and the double-rotating mop is great for hard floors as well as in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach up to 2mm below baseboards.
