The best robot hoover can vacuum and mop without needing your attention, and will leave your floors spotless. Its low cost and top-of-the-line features (such as dirt detection) are pluses.

Be sure to regularly check your robot's brushes for tangled hair and large particles and wash them if needed. Certain models also automatically empty the onboard dustbin and deposit it in an additional bin at the bottom. This reduces the amount fine dust that is released into the air.

1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro and its sibling the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've test. They feature top-of-the-line motors that can pull up to 5,500 Pascals of suction force. Like other premium iRobots (including the top model) they employ intelligent mapping to design precise floor plans and eliminate household obstacles like furniture legs. They also have a feature called carpet boost that boosts the robot's performance when it detects a lot of dirt on the carpet to get it clean quickly.

Both the Q5 as well as the Q7 Max Series get very excellent scores in our floor tests that test for bare floors They're also particularly adept in removing pet hair. However, they have several flaws that prevent them from being our top pick. One of the flaws of the Q5 is its navigation system doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance. It's therefore prone to become stuck on socks and shoes, and it couldn't navigate densely packed rooms very well during our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that can see around corners.

It's still a good deal particularly if your office or home has a lot of unfinished floors and you want to save money. Plus, it's very quiet and can be used while you're at work or school. The only thing it lacks that you can't find in the pricier iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and isn't able to handle dried-on debris. The Q5 is self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. And, if you need to, you can switch the mopping pad to dry ones in just a few seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact elegant vacuum cleaner that can also mop floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps and fluid navigation make it simple to clean, and efficient in tackling larger particles such as pet hair. It also has a self-emptying bin, powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, but it lags behind some competitors in deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mops utilizes sensors that help it stay clear of obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the patterns of your home over time to provide better cleaning. The app lets you customize zones and change the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average in comparison to other models.

When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can instruct it to take off and extend its mops. This can help avoid cross contamination. Its flex arm is also great to get under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. It's not as efficient on the washboard as our other Editors' Choice Picks, the Ecovacs Ozmo N8Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

In the course of testing, X30 Ultra was the most efficient robot vacuum/mop which could clean an entire home and had 66 percent of its battery remaining. It also did a good job cleaning a variety of floors and rooms with various flooring types, such as some area rugs. Its obstacle detection was superb and it stayed clear of fake dog turds and socks, shoes, and bundles of cables.

It's a bit more expensive than iRobot Combo v9+ or iRobot Roomba j9+ but has superior suction and an onboard bin that automatically empty into the base. It also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It even cleans the floor after vacuuming it, something we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combinations.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

With an elegant circular design that looks more like a regular Roomba than the competition's boxy units this robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most appealing looking in our reviews. The newest model from iRobot is among the most intelligent, with advanced features including enhanced dirt detection technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).

It's also the sole robot vacuum/mop to score the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our tests. This is thanks to a mix of high-tech sensors, including a structured light system, camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning robot mop and vacuum mop mops.

Like other iRobot models, the X40 is user-friendly, offering an intuitive mobile app interface as well as integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only drawback is that the X40 still a noisy unit. This could be a problem in mornings prior to work or at night when you are trying to sleep.

It's also a bit expensive, although it's not as expensive as Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are equally capable and better-looking. If you're willing to live with a bit more noise and a little more cost it's a capable two-in-one that should satisfy most people.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot vacuum and mop. It comes with a variety of advanced features that will make you forget about your chores. Similar to Ecovacs range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that takes charge of both mopping and vacuuming, with a multifunction dock that automatically empties the vacuum's trash bin, refills its water tank and washes and dry the mop pads.

The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to create floor plans and detect obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its top competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards, although this wasn't quite foolproof in our testing and was often confused by power cords or other obstructions.

The vacuum cleaner has the capacity to suction up to 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to accomplish the task. It also has a feature called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts cleaning frequency for various areas of the home based on how dirty those areas tend to be.

If you have a larger home, you should consider choosing a model that has the option of cleaning zones or spots. This allows you to instruct the robot on which part of your home needs to be cleaned with the help of an app or voice command. A stairway mode is useful if you have a number of furniture. For families with busy schedules recharge functions and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to resume where it left off could be extremely useful.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is more advanced than its price suggests. It does a stellar job vacuuming, removing 55% of debris in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mopses using only one pad and a reciprocating motion that is more efficient than most of the mop cleaners with robots that we've tested. It's also highly self-sufficient, with a full-featured app and a self emptying, washable base.

The well-designed iRobot application guides you through a mapping session that collects data about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you set on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules, or to set up an automatic vacuum and mop spot-clean. You can also use it to prioritize the most soiled areas for better performance. The app has a range of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping and advanced cleaning settings.

It also has the ability to reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It also has a powerful 8000 Pascal suction and intelligent combs for hair of pets. And you can set up a spot cleaning that thoroughly cleans a particular area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek, cheaper alternative to iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras appear like cute eyes. It is capable of vacuuming, but it is more susceptible to be caught by low thresholds and is a bit noisier than the other top robotic vacuums we've tried. It also comes with an app that's less intuitive and a small base station that doesn't double as a bin for emptying.robotic-vacuum-cleaner-cleaning-the-room-while-wom-2024-11-07-13-20-10-utc-min-jpg-original.jpg
