One thing to keep in mind is that while this crib is perfect for newborns, it won't last long after your child is six months old, which means you'll need to invest in an additional cot. However, overall Roanna found that the Joie Roomie Glide was a very good purchase and she was particularly impressed by its sleek design.
John Lewis sells the Roomie Glide for PS160. Roanna thought this was a reasonable price for a cot. She also liked the way it appeared in the bedroom and thought that the grey color will work well in modern homes. However, she pointed out that it's not an ideal idea to rock a smaller baby because it can set the stage for bad habits that will affect later sleep patterns.

It's made from soft materials and features mesh sides that are breathable to help promote airflow. Anna found it sturdy and secure when affixed to her bed with the legs firmly snapping into the bed and the zips secured to ensure baby safety. It took her about 10 minutes to put together and didn't require any tools, with clear instructions and a video or customer support number available if you have any problems.

The Chicco Next2Me Magic
This is one of the more expensive options, but it has a wide array of features. It can be used as either a side-sleeper, or a standalone crib that is suitable for infants from birth to six months. It is easy to open and close the side panel with a new mechanism. It's also more adjustable than its predecessor, having 11 different height settings as well as retractable legs for a secure fit underneath any bed.
Our testers loved the ease of access to the side panel that can be lowered and raised at the touch of the button. This was especially helpful in the evening when feeding time was over, since they could reach in and pick their baby up without disturbing them.
The side panel can be lifted on its own, but it's not advised as it increases the risk of your baby falling out of the cot. The safety locking system guarantees that the side panel will stay down if it is properly attached to the mattress of the parent. This feature is fantastic to have peace of mind when you breastfeed and require frequent nighttime feeds.

It comes with a tilting function for reflux babies, and an option to rock to calm them after a feeding. It's also extremely spacious and provides great ventilation due to its mesh sides.
The Next2Me Magic was easy to use and set up for our testers even with the lengthy instruction manual. It's a bit heavier than other side-sleepers, however, it is easily moved from one place to another. It's also foldable bedside crib into a travel cot bedside crib bag which is great for those who want to transport it. The only negative our test subjects found was that the side panel did not stretch as much as other models. This caused it to be a bit more difficult to see the baby from your bed.
The Shnuggle Air
If you're in search of a bedside crib that will grow with your child, then the Shnuggle Air is definitely worth considering. It's designed to be a sleep-co-sleeping bassinet that can be attached securely to your bed and convert into a stylish cot when your baby is ready. It's ideal for feeding at night and growing your bond with your baby.
The Shnuggle Air crib is designed to breathe, unlike some other models. The dual-view mesh side panels and hypoallergenic, breathable airflow mattress increase airflow and keep your baby cool and comfortable. A gentle incline helps to reduce colic and reflux and colic, while the zip-down side allows you to feed or soothe your baby during the night.
The kit for conversion to cot (sold separately) is also well-designed, with clear directions and everything you need to get started. It took us an hour to put together and was relatively easy to put together. The only downside was the absence of captions written on a few images which made it difficult to comprehend some of the steps. Overall, the procedure was simple and the materials used were of high quality.
In the co-sleeping mode, we discovered the Shnuggle Air to be an excellent choice for breastfeeding mums and women who have had a C-section because it lets them comfortably reach out to their baby for feeding and comfort without having to get up from their own bed. It's also great for parents who want to avoid the difficulty of getting in and out of a traditional cot or placing their child down to sleep.
The motion of gliding was found to be very helpful in lulling babies to sleep following feedings at night or midday. The drop-down side can be accessible to feed or calm babies in the middle of the night and was a major draw for our exhausted test mums. The Joie Roomie Glide is a sleek and functional crib that isn't rocking, nor has extra features like the sound machine.
