Keyless Entry System
Most Lamborghini cars are furnished with the option of having a smart key which is capable of unlocking and locking the doors, igniting the car, and disarming the immobilizer system without needing the traditional metal bladed keys. Smart keys work by using an electronic transponder in the end of the key. It communicates with the computer of the car via an encoded signal whenever the key is within five feet.
The keys are equipped with a controller chip which creates a 40-bit number each time the transmitter button on the key is pressed. The code is sent to the receiver. The hopping/rolling code prevents the transmitter and receiver from detecting signals from each other so the key is only able to be used on a single lamborghini digital key.
To duplicate a key with such a type of electronic component, you must have a special coding machine that can only be gotten from a locksmith who is certified or a lamborghini diablo key dealer. This is a costly equipment and is the main reason why re-creating keys with digital technology is more expensive than cutting a traditional bladed car key.
Key Fob
The key fob is equipped with a small remote transmitter that communicates with the car's system through Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology. It uses radio frequency signals to transmit the coded signal to an RFID chip inside the vehicle, which sends that information back to the key fob. When the key fob is activated the car can sense the information sent by the chip and respond in a manner that is consistent with the information transmitted by the chip.
The fob could also have buttons that perform other functions, like locking and unlocking doors, turning on the power sunroof or folding the power side mirrors. It can also start the engine and flash a light to let you know that it has done this.
You can easily replace the fobs at an auto shop or retailer who sells them. You can also check the owner's manual to learn more on how to replace the battery. It's usually a simple job that only takes about a minute.
If your keys do not work, it is most likely the ignition switch. This component is prone to wear or damage that can cause it to wear down. If the ignition switch malfunctions it will stop your vehicle from starting, and prevent you from driving it. It is essential to fix this problem as quickly as you can.
Remote Keyless System Receiver module
The receiver is an RF unit which contains programming logic for RKE. It is located under the lower instrument panel of the passenger close to the glove box opening. The RF receiver is a radio transmitter that operates at 315 MHz and is able to receive and decode a data stream from the RKE key fob. The data stream can be 64 to 128 bits long and includes a preamble code, command code and rolling codes. The RF signal utilizes amplitude-shift keying to reduce battery consumption and increase transmission range.
When a user presses any of the functions switches on the RKE key fob, it triggers mechanical actuators inside the key fob which press the appropriate button on the receiver's RF. This triggers a sequence of signals to send a message from the BCM indicating that the button clicked was activated.
The BCM transmits a command to the RKE transmitter, which transmits an RF radio coded signal to the vehicle in accordance with the code that is transmitted. The receiver is also able to store the transmitter's codes, which allows up to four remote keyless entries to be used at the same time. When the RF receiver is notified of a message from a transmitter that isn't matched, it will chime to signal that the message has been sent.
Diagnostics of a fault
Fault diagnosis is a method that is used to determine the cause of a fault in the system by studying the behavior of its components. Fault diagnosis is an important element of the design and validation process, and it helps reduce development time by eliminating the requirement for extensive debugging. It also allows for the rapid detection of problems and enhances the reliability of the system. Fault diagnosis is especially important in high-speed systems where the consequences of failures can be extremely costly.
Today, lamborghini keys cars are often fitted with push to start ignition technology also known as smart key. This allows you to start your car by simply pressing the dash-board button as opposed to inserting a traditional key into the ignition cylinder. Our expert locksmiths for automotive are skilled in cutting and programming supplementary keys for Lamborghini smart key systems, which come with special diagnostic equipment and software.
