top rated Robot vacuum Rated Robot Vacuums
A robot vacuum can keep floors clean enough to reduce the frequency you need to manually vacuum. Pick a robot remote vacuum with good navigation, is able to clean corners and stairs and has a large bin that only needs to be emptying every so often.
There are models that mop and charge themselves this is an option important for families with pets or children. A lot of the top performers in our tests have decent obstacle avoidance.
1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The i3+ EVO and its i3 EVO sibling, the i3 EVO are both identical robots, but they differ in that the i3+ has self-emptying features. This makes the i3+ a good option for those looking for an entirely automated, hands-free cleaning experience, but don't mind having to empty their dust bin manually when it is full.
Both robots are good at removing surface dirt on carpets and hard floors and are able to maneuver around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates smart map of your home to help the i3+ navigate and clean efficiently. The i3+ isn't able to feature obstacle avoidance features like the i7+ or any other top-rated robots we tested. It could get stuck on power cords and socks and have difficulty navigating between different surfaces, like rug and hardwood.
iRobot suggests that you clear areas where the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, and include putting away any clutter or toys it may encounter. You should also keep the dustbin and filters free of dirt to prevent them from becoming clogged. When the i3+'s internal bin is full or its battery is depleted, it returns to its docking station, automatically emptying its debris into the station's external dustbin, and then continues cleaning where it started. The i3+ EVO's battery lasts for approximately an hour and a half continuous use. It takes about three hours to recharge.
2. Roomba by iRobot
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the top model in the iRobot flagship line, and it has the most up-to-date features. It's self-charging and self-navigating, but the most important feature is its self-emptying bin. This removes the need for regular maintenance.
The Roomba I7+ can better map rooms with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning tasks and control your robot with voice or via the app.
In our tests, the i7+ was faster and more maneuverable than our top choice and the eufy RoboVac G30, and it removed large chunks of pet hair from all surface types, including carpeting. Its biggest advantage over the eufy, though it self-empties its dust bin that eliminates a major source of maintenance and lowers the amount of time spent cleaning.
We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services, which we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning sessions and to move around the room, and even vacuum an area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. Once connected to these services, we were able use the i7+'s voice commands like "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
In a world filled with vacuums with cords that are like minivans and buses, this small Dyson model feels like a sports car. It's powerful enough to replace a traditional stand-up vacuum in most homes, yet it is also small enough to fit on a coffee table or bookcase.
The V10 is powered by a 7-cell, energy-dense lithium-ion battery that produces fade-free power for 60 minutes. The advanced whole-machine filter system is able to trap allergens and then lets cleaner air into your home. The specialized head uses rigid nylon bristles to penetrate into carpets, and then pick up large crumbs or fine dust. It has three suction modes to meet the task at hand. It can quickly change from floor vacuum to handheld remote vacuum cleaner, and vice versa.
This model has an attached dock that charges the Dyson to 100% in 3.5 hours. It also provides easy access to 2 attachments as well as an wand. This is a significant improvement over older Dysons that require a long charge and are difficult to store.
The main drawback of the V10 is its short run time. Its marketing claims that it has up to 60 minutes of running time are a bit misleading as CR's tests have shown. This is a standard, not exceptional, battery-powered cordless vacuum's run time. That's still enough run time to get rid of the majority of a home that's average size however, it's not enough to clean every area (though a second run-through usually can be effective). This model has its own advantages however: it's light and more mobile than previous Dysons cordless models, and its vacuuming ability is noticeably superior on carpets with low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694
One of iRobot's most popular robot vacuums the 694 is an affordable model that's an excellent choice for people who don't wish to spend too much on a robotic. It's capable of sucking up a variety of kinds of debris in our tests, and frequently goes over the same areas multiple times to get a really thorough clean. Its flat front design allows it to reach the corners and the edges of walls.
Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt technology to avoid obstacles and navigate your home. However, it lacks the ability to map that is found in more advanced models, such as our top picks, i3+EVO and j7+ Series. It can get stuck on phone cords or furniture and is often unable to supply power before returning to its home base.
The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in most respects in that it has fewer components that require regular maintenance It also comes with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, incurs lower costs for recurring maintenance, has more advanced automation capabilities and is better at moving itself. It also has a larger dustbin, and charges more quickly.
The RoboVac X8 is a slick RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 in most purposes, because it has a longer battery life, has the ability to alter the suction power mode by hand and has physical boundary strips, and is operated by your phone's voice assistant. It's also more robust, has a more powerful motor, and performs better on floors with bare or low-pile.
5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+
Samsung is a household name in the field of home electronics. It's no surprise that they are also among the top manufacturers of robot vacuums and mop. Their Jet Bot AI+ is equipped with cutting-edge onboard tech for navigation and obstacle avoidance.
The app provides a range of options for customizing your robotic vacuum cleaner commercial cleaner. This includes mopping levels, virtual barriers and behavior adjustments docking frequency settings, and much more. The app is simple to use and understand similar to other Samsung devices.
In our tests during our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors, and cleaned up 86 percent of dog hair (on carpet). However, it didn't do particularly well in avoiding higher-up objects like cords or socks which was disappointing. It's also a little more expensive than the other models we've tested, which might be a deal-breaker for certain shoppers.
The app lets you access the camera onboard of the smart vacuum. You can also create live streaming from the robot's cleaning robots for home area. This feature lets you keep track of your pets or children when you're away from home. The filter and the dustbin can be cleaned to ensure a quick, painless clean-up. The Jet Bot AI+ also comes with a clean station that's self-emptying, which helps keep the robot's trash bin clean and optimizes suction power for each cleaning run.
6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum
Black and Decker robots have been developed specifically for hard flooring. They feature an extra-wide cleaning path and a larger dust bin that can hold 2X more debris than the competition to keep the area clear for maximum runtime. They also come with two side sweepers that can be used to clean around corners and edges. The POWERSERIES model also comes with AutoSense that automatically adjusts the power level according to whether it's picking up dirt that is on the surface or embedded. The vacuum also has an app that allows users to see a virtual map, control functions, and create schedules. Additionally, you can track the battery's status and then return it to its dock for charging at the touch of the button. The app lets you alter the LED lights on the top of the vacuum so that you can discern where it is focusing or if it has gotten stuck.
The app also makes it easy to manually steer the robot should you need to. For instance, my living room cleaning robot rug has a darkly colored border that has a tendency to trip up some of the other robots I've tried. However, the HRV 425BL continued to move across the border without registering it as a cliff. The ability to program a cleaning schedule for each week is a time-saving benefit.
