The Best Robot Vacuum That Mops
Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.
He evaluates and tests cleaning equipment. His main focus is mopping robots and vacuum combinations. Multitaskers are a great option for those looking to take mopping off their to-do list. They feature impressive mapping capabilities and obstacle avoidance capabilities, and some wash and refill their mopping pads to ensure a hands-free clean.
The Eufy S1 Pro
If you're looking to buy a robot vacuum that can also mop, this is the model to look for. It is smaller than other options which makes it easier to maneuver in tight spaces or under furniture. It uses a 220 degree lidar, which when combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the best robotic mop and vacuum navigation and obstacle avoidance I've ever seen in a robot vacuum. It has a 4600mAh battery that can last for up to 170 mins when cleaning and sucking are set to standard mode. (It can run longer when it is set to turbo). It will even return to the dock to replenish its battery midway through cleaning.
It's extremely efficient and does an outstanding job of cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It can vacuum carpeted rooms fast, and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room and hallways with only one sweep. The motor's 8,000pa power allows it to clean dirt hair, pet hair, and even droppings with ease. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects rugs, and the dual side brushes help to clean debris from corners.
The mopping performance, though still impressive, is not as effective. The mop's rotating motor spins at a high rate and it pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, easily scrubbing up dirt and staining. I've noticed that the front arm protrudes out a little more than other robots. This is useful when getting into difficult corners or on baseboards. The front arms can also be used to scoop up larger objects like books and broken toys.
The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mops and vacuums I've tested. It is quieter and doesn't produce more noise when mopping or vacuuming. The only drawback is that the S1 Pro must use a specific cleaning solution to perform mopping and is sold separately from the vacuum. It is easy to install, and it works well. However should you purchase this vacuum solely to mop, you will need to be aware of this.
The Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuums that mops in its class. It has a robust suite of features that make it an ideal option for homeowners looking for an extremely efficient, flexible, and customizable cleaning machine.
The device has a powerful and impressive cleaning system that combines LiDAR sensors with an RGB camera to map your home and locate furniture and other obstacles. It then uses this information to clean methodically and efficiently. This results in an efficient, consistent clean which is also relatively quick.
The Q Revo DuoRoller mop pad can reach many surfaces. This includes baseboards, corners and other hard to reach areas. They also have a flexible side brush that can extend to reach the floor close to walls and other fixtures. The mop pads can also be washable and can be dried to remove odors and prevent buildup.
Another feature worth mentioning is the app-based customization options. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the suction intensity and choose an back-and-forth or random pattern. You can also select the number of passes, which will determine how quickly it can move around your home. You can even choose to turn off the side brush to prevent damaging rugs and carpets.
This device has a fairly expensive price tag, but it has a variety of advanced features. It's important to keep in mind that it has periodic costs, such as mopping equipment and maintenance. For instance the brushroll should be replaced every six to twelve months or after 300 hours. The filter will need to be cleaned after 150 hours and the mop pad should be replaced every one to three months.
This robot vacuum that mops has an excellent rating on Amazon and includes a broad variety of physical automation features. The robot vacuum also has an power button that doubles as a 'Clean button' and a Home button that allows it to go home after cleaning. It also has a multi-functional dock that automatically empty the dustbin, refills its water tank to mop and washes and dries its mop pads.
The Shark Matrix Plus
If you're a busy professional or someone who wants to have a clean home without spending much time doing chores then the Shark Matrix Plus is a good choice. Its powerful performance, intelligent navigation and long battery life make it easy to keep a clean home with little effort.
The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum that vacuums and mops vacuum and mop that is, it can do both vacuuming and mopping. It has two modules: a combined dry bin and water reservoir, and a separate mopping unit with a microfiber pad that snaps into and out of position. Separate modules for vacuuming and mopping may appear a bit dated however, they mean that you don't need to worry about changing disposable bags or refueling the tank with water.
Our testers discovered that the Matrix Plus did a great job at both vacuuming and mopping. Its greatest feature is its precise floorplan map, which it uses when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate effortlessly through rugs, furniture and other obstacles. The app also offers the option of setting 'No-Go zones' and virtual barriers that help to shield certain areas of your house from being cleaned with a mop.
The Matrix Plus also did a surprising job of collecting hair of pets. It was able to collect an enormous amount of hair our cats shed, and even got into the nooks and crannys of our stairs which other robots struggled. The noise levels of the robot vacuums uk were low and there were nice jingles to inform you that it was in the process of getting its work done.
The app was too simple and you had to alter the modules every time you changed between mops and vacuuming. The app doesn't have the capacity to hold multiple maps, which can be a problem if you have a home that has a variety of floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a great choice for those who want a smart device that can vacuum and mop.
The Yiko X1 Omni
The X1 Omni is the most expensive robot vacuum that mops in our review, but it comes with some distinct features that make it worth taking into consideration. The X1 Omni's main draw is its huge dock which doubles as a charging base as well as housing for two water tanks, a cleaning sink, and a 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically eliminates.
The base has several control buttons, which allow you to manually start a cleaning task and then recall the robot or use the dock's auto-emptying procedure. Press two of the buttons to switch on a child lock which is a great touch for parents worried about kids tinkering with the vacuum.
The X1 Omni, like other robotic vacuums, uses its camera to identify obstacles and furniture in its path. It will steer clear of them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.
Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni will occasionally get caught up in obstacles, like an electrical cord dangling across a rug, that it gets stuck and ceases to function until you manually free it. While it was not common, it was a frustrating experience when it did happen particularly since the X1 Omni doesn't have a "stuck" status alert on its app.
The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch from mopping mode to vacuuming mode during a cleaning session. You will need to manually switch between the two, which isn't an issue aside from the fact that the mopping pads aren't cleaned and dried between uses and can cause mildew or mold.
The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed the sleek, modern base and mopping pad. It's a huge difference from the utilitarian black bases of rivals such as Roborock or iRobot. And it's a welcome sight for a market dominated by clunky boxy units.
