Its mops spin at high speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, making short work of dirt, pet hair and dried sticky spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, as well as a selection of brushes and attachments as well as an intuitive app that lets you choose the kind of cleaning you want for each room.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop come with plenty of running time and the mop is able to operate for 184 minutes in Quiet mode, and the vacuum able to do 136 minutes in normal mode before needing to recharge or return to the base to refill. The app is easy to use and intuitive, allowing you to look at every aspect of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's flagship robot mop and vacuum. This year's model has a double agitator built into its mopping pad. This improves the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction power that allows it to remove smaller hairs as well as other debris other robotic cleaners could miss.

The Roborock model, like the other two I tried, has infrared and reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it overcome obstacles like furniture, walls and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things one step further by incorporating a dual camera that can recognize objects and determine whether they're a wall or another surface. It then can alter its path automatically and clean around them without stumbling.

It's the most expensive model I've tested however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular design is striking and only has three physical buttons. The power button, which also restarts the cleaning, a mop button that doubles up as a child-lock and a home button to bring the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find the 350ml dust bin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin automatically refills.

The only negative I discovered with this model was that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. You can replace the mopping cloth when required, but it's not easy to take the mount off to wash it manually. I've found that any plush carpet that the robot passes will be in contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, which can cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of intelligent features, including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can manage and set up these via the Roborock app that is also the home of its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings, monitor battery life and component maintenance. You'll need to jump through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. This is a shame considering how efficient it is otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop that has incredible suction power, sophisticated mowing capabilities, and innovative features. Its intelligent design allows for personalized and efficient cleaning, while saving you time.

The X40 is the first robot vacuum cleaner to provide 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which makes it one of the best automatic vacuum cleaner options available. It can also be adjusted to adjust suction power, switch modes, view floor plans and maps and control mopping settings. The X40 will also keep track of its progress, and alert you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy to maintain and has many convenient features that make it an excellent choice for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the dustbin into a huge 3.2 L bin, washes the mop pads, and refills them with clean water and a cleaning solution. It also can detect when the mop pad is full and notify you before it overflows, reducing the necessity for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models on the market. It has several features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, which is a new feature on its mop heads, makes use of two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can vacuum up pet hair and smaller dirt particles as well as picking up spills and wet spots.

The mop mops are cleaned and dried at the base station each time they are used. This feature is great because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours from building up in the storage. Mopping is also well-designed and the double-rotating mop works well on hard floors and in corners. They can even reach down to 2mm baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature which is a nice addition.
