Eufy's robot mop and vacuum is among the top-rated product in its class. It takes a lot of the chore of cleaning your floors. It can re-fill its own water tank, and self-empty its tower bin, and swap the dust bag.

Object Avoidance
Object avoidance features allow your robot to avoid running into things like toys, power cords and even clothes that could be caught in the vacuum. These are especially important if you have kids or pets who are likely to leave items on the floor, which your robot can discover them.
Depending on the model you choose, you might have a variety of sensors to help your robot navigate around obstacles. Some of the most well-known include crossed IR sensor beams, which are focused infrared lights that scan the room looking for things like furniture legs or door frames. A lot of robots have adopted this technology, and you'll find it in the most expensive models that cost more.
Another object avoidance technology is available in higher-end robotics is 3D Structured Light which uses cameras and crossed IR sensors to map the surroundings and identify obstacles. Time of Flight (ToF) sensors that measure and emit the amount of time it takes for the light to reflect off of an object, to determine its distance, are available. These aren't very common but are a great addition to your robot, if you're looking for extra peace of mind.
Most of the top-rated robotics can also clean your floors. Some even come with their own water tanks that allow them to clean up the stains and spills that are wet. You'll have to empty the robot's onboard dust bin and wipe down its sensors and cameras between cleaning sessions, but these tasks should not take a lot of time.
Mapping
Mapping capabilities are essential in robot vacuums since they enable them to recognize your home's layout, and avoid hitting things like walls. They may be tripped by cords, pet toys, or furniture without mapping. This can result in them removing less space. By using sensors, many robots map out your home to identify any obstacles and help navigate around them. They can clean the floor in fewer passes, and save you time. Many of the best robotic mop and vacuum robot vacuums also come with this feature, which allows you to designate areas that are not accessible.
Robots that have built-in LIDAR use this technology to map your home efficiently and quickly. The Eufy Clean robot divided my room into distinct areas and cleaned each in a separate manner during our tests. This was an enormous improvement over other models that only used a front-bumper sensor. This was a much more precise way to navigate my home, and it was easy for me to control with the app that came with the device.

They combine with a LIDAR mapping system with a structured-light sensor which can detect and avoid objects, even if they're hidden under furniture or power cables. Those features allow your robot to get into tight spaces like the nook beneath the kitchen cabinets or beneath sofas, where many other robots have difficulty. They also have a faster speed to navigate around obstacles, and have longer runtimes, and bigger dust bins. This makes them more suitable for large homes compared to the smallest robots.
The most effective robot vacuums are quick and efficient. They are also intelligent and powerful. They can remove an array of floor debris, including pet hair, kitty litter and other dirt. They're also quiet, making them an ideal option for homes with pets and young children. Another big difference between these two models is how well they deal with hair that is long, which can tangle in the rollers of certain robots. Maintenance
A robot vacuum can help keep up with your home. The most effective models collect more dirt pet hair and lint, than a broom on low pile or hard floors. They come with navigational features that prevent them from getting stuck on power cords, rug fringe or furniture.
According to the model, you can schedule the robot vacuum to run multiple times per day or even watch it perform its duties using an app. However, these convenient vacuums are also prone to clogging and require regular maintenance, such as emptying the onboard bin (or the base's larger dust bin in some cases) as well as checking the brushes for hair that is tangled, and periodically rinsing and letting the filters dry as recommended by the manufacturer.
Emily Rairdin is a vacuum expert and store owner apprentice from University Vacuum + Sewing. She says that a robot vacuum can last up to five years if it is properly maintenance. She recommends emptying the bin and the brush roll regularly cutting out hair that gets caught in the brushes, and frequently rinsing and drying the filter if your machine is a mop as well. It's a good idea wipe the sensors and charging contacts on the robot or dock with an easy, clean cloth every now and again. Then simply recharge and refill the robot as needed for the next time you clean.
