WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades can give you boosts in specific stats. Each upgrade increases the item level by +3. Each upgrade also boosts a random substat.
The more modernized gear generally has a greater value for trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variance (like the eth titan weapons). Upgrades are less important for those with higher variance due to the requirement to roll the perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. The item used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to enchantments.
The upgrader can be found in all major cities, and is accessible anytime to upgrade your equipment. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each several weeks.
Upgrades will cost more depending on the level of the item, however, they are always cheaper than buying new equipment. For instance upgrading a Benthic chest piece to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points while purchasing the same item from a different player will cost 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase tools, armor, weapon, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players from item upgrader mod upgraders NPCs for various currencies. They can also find them in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any tool, weapon or armor. The button will display the item level upgrade (navigate to these guys)'s next level of upgrade, if there are enough materials.
The cost of upgrading is based on the slot of the item and current item level and the weapon's price is higher than gloves or bracers, for instance. Each step costs 15 Flightstones and a variety of crests, with certain upgrades offering discounts to lower the cost of the Flightstones or crests that are used. Once an item is upgraded to a certain amount, it can be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of both currencies.
Upgraders for items are available at many locations including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount and the chance to acquire a new upgrade recipe. The discount on upgrades increases when more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players finish certain achievements or quests.
Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrades upgrader at start unlike Cromwell from Baldur's gate II. Instead the NPCs that can be used to upgrade are acquired via various methods that are both an improvement as well as a disadvantage.
In Season 3, the upgrade system was modified a bit, and several new features added. When a player has an upgrade to a specific level for an item in an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same level will cost less even when they are part of an entirely different set of gear.
The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is affixed to all accounts. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests needed for upgrades is also reduced and is not available until players reach certain milestones in their achievements.
Crests
When upgrading equipment in WoW, players have a variety of choices. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more special and are used for specific item level upgrades. Crests are a crucial element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They are available in four ranks.
First, you must be aware that crests are only available for equipment with a certain rank. Each rank has an upgrade path that is different. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade costs 15 crests. The most complex upgrade could require as much as 20 crests, contingent on the kind of equipment that is being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by working through content that is of the appropriate level, whether that means walking around and doing outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons of all difficulty for items of higher tier or Mythic+ dungeons or heroic raid bosses for gear that is used in the endgame. The crests can then be exchanged with an upgrader for the item, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and paths.
The new currency system isn't complicated to use, however it will bring some changes to the upgrade process. For instance, once an item is at the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible level on all of their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.
Another notable change is that crests have one purpose, so it's important to make use of them in a responsible manner. It's Best item upgrader to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear you can find, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next round of upgrades. This is particularly relevant for items like trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The account-wide discount will only apply when all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
